How to count FP days?

Ok, this sounds like a stupid question but i have been reading up on how likely we are to get FOP FP on our upcoming 60 day window. Most posts count days at 60+1 or 60+2, etc. So in that scenario, is 60 your arrival day? Because lost of people are saying its not reliable to get the FP you want for your preferred time before 60+4. So thats day 5 of your trip? Because that is most of the way through the majority of trips and made me kind of worried for our AK day on day 3 of our vacation. Just wanted to make sure i understand the math that 60+1 is actually day 2 of your trip.

yes, you are correct. Your 60 day marks the day of your arrival, or the first day you go to the park to use FPs. 60 + 1 would be your 2nd day of trip, and so on....

You have to take into account what's going on at that 60+ day mark. Recently there's been a lot of posts about not being able to get FP+ for FoP in AK at their 60+ day mark, but you need to realize that it's Memorial Day weekend/week and a lot of schools may also be out around that time.

Also, in many cases park hours haven't been finalized. When hours are added they eventually add more FP+ for that day.

I think I know what you mean by the above, but to be clear, the "system" does not know or care on what day of your trip you will actually be first going into a theme park. (Many guests arrive a day -or more- earlier than the first day that they go into a theme park.)
So, the only day that "counts" in regard to when a guest with a WDW resort stay can FIRST start booking advance FP+ is 60 days before the date of check-in at the WDW resort.
