I know there was an old post about this and I have searched for it and can not find the one I am looking for.
We got laminate flooring about 2 months ago and I am having a hard time with cleaning them. I have used swiffers, vinegar and water and just water and they still look dirty. Any help on where to find that post would be appreciated.

I use the Pergo floor cleaner also. It comes in a spray botttle. No pets or kids at home, so I don't have to use it often. Sometimes, use the wet swiffer cloths. Do you fry a lot of food? My friend said her husband always made a mess by swirling the oil that got on the floor all over with a mop. Could that be giving your floor that dirty look? The pergo cleaner is great for in front of the stove. Just spray and wipe up with paper towels.

Depending on the brand floor you have - they might have their own cleaner. We have Wilson Art floors, and they have their own spray cleaner, we buy it at a local flooring store that carries wilson art. I have seen generic laminate floor cleaner at Home Depot and Lowes -- as a previous poster mentioned it comes in a spray bottle... no mopping laminate floors!

Believe it or not, as much as I hate cleaning floors, I miss the kind you could mop and scrub! Even with the spray I never 'feel' like the floors are clean.. kwim?

I have a hoover floor mate. It is for hard floors, wood laminate, tile, etc.... I just use that, it scrubs the floor and sucks up all the water, and is as easy to use as a vacuum. I only have to "mop" once a week.

I always used a little bit of ammonia and water. Never hurt my floors, and I didn't get the streaking like I did with other cleaners.

I LOOOOVE My Floormate!!!

Glad to see it should work well on Pergo too, as were planning on installing new flooring soon. But, yes, I agree, it does the best job, and I have tried just about EVERYTHING!! :cheer2:

we use the laminate floor cleaner spray from home depot with the mop that is flat with a washable/removable terry cloth cover. swiffers just smear and don't do well on our floors.
the spray and mop does as good as we can get. not perfect.

I wouldn't mop traditionally...its not good to get the floors too wet.

That's what I love about the floor mate. It doesn't leave water sitting on the floor it vacuums it up. It is much better that just spreading dirty mop water and cleaner all over the floor.

I use windex to clean my pergo and it works the best for us.

Thanks everyone for your help!
One of my peeves are my floors, I can not stand dirty floors or floors that look dirty. I'm constantly telling my kids and husband to take your shoes off at the door.
I am gonna try what ya'll have suggested and propably buythat hoover!!

Too bad you don't live near me--I'd let you try mine out--I never liked mine! Took way too much time.

I like the swiffer wet mopping cloths, even though it takes at least 2 to mop my kitchen since they dry quickly. Next time I mop I'm going to try using 3. Maybe I'll try the spray for laminate flooring since I haven't tried that before.
