How to clean a microfiber couch?

I have a microfiber couch that is showing some dirt. It is a mocha brown and I can see some darker spots. What would you use to pull that off without damaging the fabric. I thought of dawn and water, but not sure that would pull up the dirt.

Thoughts?

Dawn and Water should work just fine. That is what we do with ours. I did get the scotch guard treatment on ours - and sometimes I even take the cushions out of ours and wash the covers on gentle and dry on low. I haven't had any issues with the fabric shrinking although it did take some practice to figure out the easiest way to remove and put the covers back on the cushions. I use the duvet method. :)

Dawn and water should be fine. Be careful about over wetting it may cause water rings to form when dry. And if you have one of those carpet cleaners with a hose that pulls water out of fabric that would work even better because it will pull most of the water back out.

We have the local carpet cleaner come out and do it. He charges us $20 for the couch and love seat and does an incredible job.

I use Windex. But then I use Windex for just about everything.:)

I just put some Oxyclean in hot water and dab it on my sofas and everything comes out fine. I have also had good success with the Oxyclean in my carpet cleaner for sofas, carpets, the car floors, car ceiling (don't ask) and upholstery when the kids were little &/or after my dogs muddy feet would hit. I guess it's my go-to product. The only time i have trouble is if i use too much and it leaves a white powdery ring, but even then the ring comes out with more water so no worries.

I had a microfiber couch that survived the flood. I kept it in the garage for months. When we moved it smelled and had stains on it.

I rented a carpet cleaner for my carpets but used the upholstery hose on it. Worked like MAGIC. I added the odor eliminator solution to get rid of the smell. I love microfiber, especially with cats! :thumbsup2

We haven't cleaned ours at all yet, but our salesperson said one part Dawn to ten parts water.

We have a microfiber couch. When we first got it I looked up instructions on how to clean it and apparently there are 2 different microfibers and they require 2 different types of cleaning. You can pull up one of the couch cushions and there should be a label under one of the cushions on the actual couch or maybe on a tag that will tell you a code that will tell you either to use water only or soap only. Ours had W which means water only. And it actually works. I just take a damp clean sponge and water has cleaned every mark that I have ever found. It's very important to look at the code.

Ok, here are the codes, I googled them to find them.

Microfiber furniture will commonly come with a tag that has one of the special microfiber codes that tell you how to clean it. The tags will say, W, S, S-W, or X.

W means you can use water based cleaning solution.
S means you have to use a "solvent" based cleaner
S-W means you can use S or W type cleaners

This is different than I had originally read. The website I first found (I have no clue which one now), said that W meant water only. And honestly, water has worked wonderfully. We have a light tan couch and a dog. Not a good combination. But there is not a food stain, a pen stain or a paw print from dirt that I have not been able to get out just by using a damp sponge and scrubbing a bit.
