How to carry a silhouette around all day?

I want to get a silhouette made of ds when we enter MK. I know if I wait until later we won't get it done. How do I carry it around all day? It's an outside thing right? So no sending it back to the hotel. How do you keep it pristine?

Thanks!
Kate

I believe you can have it sent down to the front of the park..where you can pick it up on your way out.... :thumbsup2

You are right. That is what we did and it worked out very well.

They mount them on fairly stiff board and double them together,- you get 2- they fit perfectly across the bottom of one of the small Disney bags. They are exactly 5" x 7". Mine fit inside my bag I was carying and were fine at the end of the day. If you have them framed ( I didn't although reasonable, I didn't like the frame) they would be bigger but also more protected. Mine came home in my checked suitcase ok.

We just put ours(2) in our backpack-they wrap them pretty well. Wasn't a problem to carry them.

They are a great little souvenir for the price, but not such great quality depending on who does it. But then we are spoiled. There is a woman in our area that does beautiful ones in under 2 minutes that really capture your child and all of the details in their outfits, french braids, etc. We have those hanging on our wall, and the Disney ones in a drawer.

Get a locker. The price is reasonable.

There is a package pick-up place right at the front of Main Street. It is free. We dropped of some photos and a frame we got at Epcot on our way into MK after park-hopping. You can even have items sent to your resort if you are staying on-site.

I think we paid $6.95 for the silhouette and the same for the frame.

when we had ours made in december they just held it there for us at the cart on main street and told us to pick it up on our way out.

I would just rent a locker for the day, that way you can ensure that it will be in great condition when you leave the park. I also would put it in my checked suitcase on the flight home, I have done this with picture frames with glass in the past and they made it home fine. :wizard:

I had my kids done in Liberty Square at a cart across from the Funnel Cakes. There is also one in France at Epcot. The young man who did theirs was from France and he said he works at both locations- he was very good, was in art school in France when Disney was looking for students to work at Epcot and said sure to work in United States for 4 yrs I'll do silhouettes!

I have had the silhouettes done of my DDs alone & together in Liberty Square in MK--I was pleased with the quality. Last Christmas I had one done of our entire family together at DTD--the gentleman who did them was awesome. We always have them framed in the black, plastic oval frame which they wrap thoroughly in tissue paper.

We had ours done on main street, on the right hand side, I think past Tony's.

Also, remember if you are staying on property and it isn't your last day or two you can have most souveniers sent to your hotel gift shop at your resort. We used that quite a bit on our last two trips.
Have a great trip!
Kim
