We are planning on going to Aulani in early November. We are hoping to stay for 13 days and so I am looking for advice on how to book through member services (we don't have it as a home resort). I know you can only book 7 days from the seven period date. Is it required them to call back every single day to add an additional six days subsequent to that seven-month mark? Tips / ideas?

If you are concerned that additional inventory may be an issue, your only option is to call daily.

If it were a home resort you could wait and just make 2 calls but at 7 months an Aulani owner could potentially book very late in their home window.

It probably isn't a concern in November but it would be safest to call every day to add a day.

I booked a 2 wk reservation for Aulani in Aug 2013. I was nervous about it since I didn't own there either. At the 7mth prior day, I booked 7 days. Then I looked at the days before and there was plenty of availability. I checked the availability every day. I got nervous so on the 3rd day after, I called and added 3 more days. Then I waited and added the rest 4 days later. I was relieved.

But I realized I didn't have a reason to be nervous, a month later when I checked, there were still availability. Now, I booked the Gardenview so I was hoping that I wouldn't have issues since, at the time, they said it had the most rooms and easiest to get. It wasn't the standard villas which required less points, and it wasn't the oceanview which, as you can imagine, was very popular.

As luck would have it, we had a Gardenview with a somewhat skewed view of the ocean. But honestly, everything was beautiful and we didn't really need the ocean view from our villa, we enjoyed being there and everything about it.

We've gone the week before Thanksgiving 3 times since it's opened and booked at 7 months. While we only stayed 7-8 nights, we had zero issues with availability. We were able to book a std view studio one year, std view 1br another year, and a ocean view studio another year. I'm not sure exactly what room you are looking for but there was a lot available when we book right at the 7 month point. The mid to higher point views were available for our dates all three trips to at least the 6 month window. I would put pretty good odds you will have a decent time getting 2 weeks without much trouble. Good luck!!!!

November 10th is Veterans day and it falls on Friday in 2017. Whenever there is a 3 day weekend expect the local owners of Aulani to book those nights. Kids are out of school in Hawaii for the holiday so many local Aulani owners will take advantage of it and have a staycation. So the closer it gets to the 7 month mark, less availability will be had for that weekend. Personally after taking a trip to Aulani during Hawaiian fall break in October one year, I plan to always avoid Aulani during the Hawaiian school breaks. The resort was packed both in the DVC villas and the hotel. I think 90% of the guests never left the resort even during the day. We got so we took day trips just to get away from the crowds.

Have you looked ahead at the availability for your dates using the Resort Availability Tool on the member website?
