I'm new to the Fast Pass+ but have already booked what I could for our last minute trip in October. We decided to go about 2 weeks ago and won't be telling our 4 kids until we are on the way to the airport! I'm wondering how to best use the FP for our family (our kids are 12, 10, 7 and 3). Should I be booking FP for an adult and the 3 yo on other rides while the older kids are using the FP for the bigger stuff (like Space Mountain)? What are your experiences with Fast Pass when you have different ages/sizes to work with?
Also, Is it true that the closer we get to departure day there might be more FP and dining options that come available?

Yes, people may cancel or change their reservations so keep checking if you missed out on things you wanted. Do a quick search of the forums for "child swap" and "rider swap" to get some good info on how to best utilize FP+ with a little one. :)

Great question. I have the same problem. I was thinking that I will use fastpass+ for the older kids(bigger/thrill rides) and just rope drop for my little one the more simple rides.

I learned by my mistakes last year to make FP+ reservations for a ride for the 3 yo and 1 parent during FP+ times for the other adult and kids. You can get a rider swap if you desire so the other adult can ride the ride. Some may tell you that everyone who will be using the RS will need a FP+ reservation for the ride, but that was not my experience. My band was never scanned to get an RS when DH took DS first.
However, I do recommend you get an FP+ for ride nearby so meet up is easy (when we did MK, DD and I did Winnie the Pooh while DH& DS did Mine Train)
