It should be easy to keep the 5-yr-old content with everything (this is her first time to WDW) but what about my 15-yr-old son? Anything he can enjoy while we are at the Magic Kingdom? How do I balance the activities at vairous parks?

Thank you all in advance for the responses.

I've been there, done that many times; my DD is 16 & my DS is 5. The way we survive is that I take the little guy on the stuff he likes the best (even if it's over & over again, like Buzz Lightyear) while my husband & DD go on the "big" stuff (Space Mountain, Alien Encounter, etc). We all go on Pirates, HH, Teacups, Tomorrowland Speedway, etc. This way they each get a chance to do their favorites & Dad & I don't have to put up w/bickering!!!

That is our problem as well, DD is 15 and DS is 6. I was also wondering how to keep both happy. My DD is good and understands that this is her brother's first time there. It is also DD birthday. So I want this trip to be extra special.

We took our 16 year old dd and our 2 year old dd to WDW in March. I worried in advance about how we would mesh the needs of both our girls together. Our solution? We had older dd bring a friend. Her parents paid for her airfare and park tickets and we provided room and meals etc. It worked out really well - the teens spent time alone and with us and everyone ended up happy.

Not a solution for everyone but something to consider!

I thought about splitting up once we are in the park. The problem is my husband has motion sickness; the rides he can tolerate are limited. He usually stays in line for us.

Gee, I found on our trip that we my hubby, teen and myself all reverted to about the same age as my 5 y/o. There were no problems at all keeping everyone happy!

I do not care for roller coaster or ToT-type rides so I hung out with our wee one and the teen and hubby went on the other stuff.

When we went last November my dd was (17) and ds (3) and we never had a problem. She enjoyed going on everything he wanted to and when there was something he couldn't go on I would go with her while DH waited with my son or she went on by herself. Not one time did we have a problem. I think she enjoyed watching her brother get excited. We are returning this November and we will do it the same way we did last year. Michelle

We have a 15 year old DD and a 5 year old DS. They do everything together. They both love riding Dumbo to Tower of Terror. We all do. The big coasters and things he can't ride on we do the child swap. It's great cause we all stay happy and together.
