It's not Spring Break just yet, but the parks are crowded. Why? BRAZILIAN TOUR GROUPS. I always run into them, but lately I've been hearing for the past couple days that there's an over-flow of them. I'm going to Epcot and MK on Sunday and want to know how to avoid them. I plan to be at Epcot park opening, and I plan on leaving Epcot around Noon or 1 PM and taking a monorail over to MK. TIA!

The last couple of weekends I've seen groups but not Brazilian, Argentinian. No way of avoiding, just plan to get there at rope drop. Also still alot of dancers and cheerleaders.
Brazilian (or for that matter) any groups have ever bothered us. They are just having fun as everyone else.

We were in WDW in January, and there were many South American tour groups. They were a bit loud at dinners or in queues, but they never impacted us in a negative way. We just made sure not to get on a stand-by line if 100 people just jumped on the FP line.

Im wondering how they will react to the new FP enforcement. Im sure they're famous line will be "I dont speak English"

You can't completely avoid them, no matter if they're Brazillian, Argentinian, Cheerleaders or Martians. If they're in the parks or at your resort you'll run into them sooner or later. All you can do is head in a different direction if they'll be ahead of you in a line... Or just choose to go with the flow and put in your earplugs.:rolleyes1

They are impossible to avoid. They are there to enjoy WDW just like us, but I will agree they can be an annoyance. My favorite experience was in August 2008 when my cousin and me waited in a LONG line at the Haunted Mansion. As we made progress towards the ride we had a couple of tour group members cut in front of us. They acted like they didn't speak English (I'm 99.9% sure they did) when we tried to ask them to go to the back of the line. So, we just gave up and accepted their cutting. But, then a few minutes later they multiplied into more and more. Eventually, we had probably 30 of them in front of us. When we tried to talk with the WDW CM's they just shook their head like there was nothing they could do. We left the line, and the park. It was disappointing, because we never made it on to the Haunted Mansion that trip.

There's really nothing you can do to avoid them completely in my experience. It's really just a matter of going with the flow...and trying to go the opposite side of the park they're on :wizard:

I just got back yesterday and saw only a few the last few days and I think they were Canadian, Australian and US tour groups. get an app for your phone. If you see a ride shoot up really high... that is where they are

We had a negative experience at the Muppet's Show. After waiting in line for 30 mins 2 tour groups each group had about 15 members and cut into line. They knocked my 7 year old son to the ground and no one even stopped. My wife helped my son while I caught up to the person the knocked down my son. He said he didn't speak English an so on. I followed him to the first corner and gave him a gentle elbow into the ribs....:) Got my point across and his group of 15 backed off and got into like the rest of us.

Is it common for there to be big tour groups in early March? We usually go in Sept/October but are thinking of a first week in March trip next year. We don't usually see any tour groups on our Sept/Oct trips.

I find it funny that the above comment used they're instead of their but that could just be me.

Recently, an announcement was made, that our government will make it easier for Brazilians to apply for visas. It's going to be even more difficult to avoid, those large, loud, obnoxious, tour groups.:scared:

It won't really change anything, just speed up the process.

Also, it is very unlikely that there are brazilian groups this week, since we are in school season and there is no holiday this week.

And most teenagers in these groups are 14-15y old, so most don't speak english at all.

Just go the other way. Best to avoid a fight and go on enjoying disney. It's a stressful vacation as it is, and when they have been there when I was there, getting into a fight with them is pointless, and usually just gets you very angry and frustrated. The CM's probably have it even worse with them, which is why complaints about the groups seem to be unheard. It's best to know that the rudeness of the large groups is inevitable. I wish there was a better answer, but even rude people are allowed in the happiest place on earth lol

Or memorize a few lines in Brazilian, how to say 'back of the line, shmuck!' or 'cut the line and i'll cut you!' lol

I was in Disney last weekend and tour groups were not an issue at all. Parks were crowded in general, but people were polite and considerate. The biggest places I noticed tour groups were at the airport and DTD, and those were school groups on band and chorus trips.

School's in session here in Brazil and we're not having any holidays right now, BTG shouldn't be numerous - at least, they're not in peak numbers.

You can't..Its like avoiding kids ..not gonna happen.I was at Universal in Jan and was surprised there were any people left in South America that week.Generally Jan and July are the times you run into them the most.I just go in the opposite direction of them.I have to admit ,It was much easier to do at Universal since they generally do not have the express pass.

I've been at the World since last Saturday, and haven't encountered any problems w/ tour groups of any kinds. I have seen some senior trip groups and dance groups at the resorts and DTD, but it hasn't impacted me at all.

my first thought on how to avoid them is to 'Go to Brazil!' coz they're all over here! :lmao:
