How to avoid error code when booking at 8am?

No dwarfs. But I didnt get to book, maybe thats why. The room I was trying to book became unavailable between 2am and a couple minutes prior to 8am. The night prior was unavailable at 2am so your guess is as good as mine on how that happens.

If the room category is rare enough, someone might have extended a stay, and if they were the only person checking out that day, it removes the day from inventory.

Dang sorry to hear that.

What you can do, as a practice run, find another room tomorrow and at 8am try and hit continue. That’s the best way to figure out how the system works in your end. Keep doing it day after day.
You end up figuring out if you need to click continue at 7.59.58 or at 7.59.59 or maybe even 8.00.01 or something completely different.

One of the punchlines of the course I teach on distributed systems: A clock cannot tell you what time it is; at best it might be able to tell you what time it isn't.

However, your cell phone is probably the most accurate clock you own, because it regularly syncs to the cell towers. It still won't be correct, but on the order of human-scale events it is hard to tell.

I used this clock. https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/usa/orlando I figured out that my cell phone is off by a second or so.

Yes, but how does that clock know what time it really is? And who gets to say which clock is the right one? In other words, maybe your cell phone was "correct" and that clock was off?

For the purposes of DVC, the clock that matters is the one used by whatever server you are talking with, and that might or might not be the same as either timeanddate or your cell phone. Worse, the differences might not be consistent from day to day (though in my experience my cell phone and DVC's notion of time seem consistently pretty close, at least within the bounds of human perception/action error.)

This gets mind-bending in a hurry, but this is a pretty good overview of the topic:

Wouldn’t that only work if you are trying for a room that will sell out?

Would it work with something like SSR which doesn’t always?
