How to Announce Pregnancy AT Disney

Hey guys. Long-time member with a new name in case family happens upon this post. :)

We're going to WDW soon and I want to think of a fun way to tell my parents that we're expecting while we're there. I have thought of a couple but I know that cast members are pretty cool about participating in fun things like this if you let them know what's going on, so maybe I can think of something better.

So far what I have is pretty lame. I thought that while we're waiting for the "gates" to open the first day we go to MK, I'd just casually say, "Won't it be fun to do this next year with your grandchild?"

I also thought about going to Mickey to get an autograph and having him write "Congrats, grandma!" instead, but a) I'm not sure he will and b) it would require talking to his (or her) handlers ahead of time and my parents would wonder what was up, I think.

Any other ideas? I've seen the threads on taking a fun picture while you're there and announcing at home, but ours is really about doing it there with the fam. My mom is the one who instilled her love of Disney in me so it will be really special for her. :)

how about buying her a t-shirt that says Grandma or I'm going to be a Grandma! on it and telling her you have a suprise shirt for her to wear? Give it to her in the hotel-you can make your own t-shirt on the Disney site, or any shirt kiosk in a mall.

How about making your mom a card inviting her to take the new arrival on their 1st Dumbo ride or It's a Small World during the season you plan on taking baby the 1st time.

you could then give the card to mom in front of the attraction or during dinner 1 night. Be ready with camera or have another person ready with camera....

Mouse ears with a special message on the back....

If this is your first child, you do ears that say "Mommy-to-be" or you could give your parents some that say "Grandmom" or "Grandpop."

You could buy a onesie or a t-shirt for your new addition that says "My first trip" and give that to your parents.

CONGRATULATIONS! Have a great trip!

Congratulations! Very exciting, there is no better place than Disney to tell your Mom. I think it is so cute. Do you have your dining reservations already? What about calling one of the restaurants you plan on eating at and have a cake made for the occasion. Have something written on it, like, "Guess whose having a baby", or just "Grandma". You can buy her a Disney frame, and put a piece of paper in the frame, that says, "Reserved for Baby's First Disney Trip". Give it to her at dinner. I was pregnant while in Disney last Spring. I made a few shirts with the DisIgners help. One said "My baby craves Mickey bars", and I have a few others that were cute. Maybe slip one of those on, and see how long it takes your Mom to see what it says. Good luck! Please post after your trip to let us know how it went.

I would playfully banter with my significant other near the Dumbo ride, "What color Dumbo should we ride in? Pink or blue? What do you think honey? Grandmas? Grandpas? Do you think it will be pink or blue?" Hopefully they'll catch on quickly.
