How to add-on?

First post here. We have been DVC members since 1994 @ OKW. Add-on @ VB in 95 & add-on @HH in 96. When we did these add ons, the resorts were open for new members. If we want to add on now that they are sold out, who do we contact and is it possible to get small add ons (less than 100 points)? Prefer to buy from DVC, not resale company. We had one guide for OKW & VB, but got another one for HH which is where we would like to add. Where do these points come from if the resorts are sold out? Thanks for any help you can give me. I guess I should know all the answers after 8 years as a DVCer, but I obviously don't. This is a great board! Just discovered it a few weeks ago and glad that I did!

I will let the pros answer all your questions...... just wanted to say.......

If Disney opts to exercise their Right of First Refusal and buy back the points on resale contracts, they then turn around and sell the points to current members who are on wait lists for particular resorts.

P.S. Welcome to the boards!

Call your rep, if you still have his number, and ask to be put on a waitlist for points in your use year at the resort you want. You may hear in a month, or maybe a year from now. These points are $84 per point, no MB programs apply to the sold out resorts, either. When some pts do become available, and you are at the top of the list, you will get a call, stating # of points that they have and asking how many you want if you are still interested. It's an easy process--they will finance 50 or more pts purchased.;)

just wondering:

If DVC is re-selling contracts bought back using ROFR, do they have to sell the entire contract as is, or can they split it up into smaller contracts? I know I can't split any of my contracts, but it seems people are being offered points, and letting them specify the number of points they want.

Disney can split the points up into smaller contracts.

Thanks so much for all the great information and the quick replies. I think I have found my new home -- just love all the DVC posts -- could be because I love DVC. Probably won't post much but I will definitely be reading as much as I can. It's amazing how active this board is. Thanks again.
