How to add on points ?

I am going to purchase a resale but at the moment best I can afford is 100 points. If in a year or two I needed more points how would I do this and could I join them together for 1 vacation ? Also should I go for the 100 now or wait a year until I can afford more points ?

There should be points available in a few years. Yes, you can addon. Make sure you get the same use year. For the best option addon at the same resort, but you can addon at any of them. It is a little more difficult using them together when you have 2 different resorts, but not impossible to do. Just buy now what you can afford and look at addons in the future.

If you want more points and finances are the issue, I'd recommend you save your money and buy later rather than now. The total costs of buying 100 now and then an add on later resale will be much higher than buying all at oncce. We have not heard the answer on DVC's requirements of addding on to that type contract. Will they require you to buy another 150 or will they require you to get to 150 for your home resort? I don't know and would want to know before buying.
