How tasty is disney fudge? And where can you get the best fudge in disneyworld?

Also, which flavours are recommended?

it is pretty good, we usually pick it up at the candy store on main street when we have a ton of snack credits to use the last day,and my kids like the chocolate peanut butter kind :)

It's good, but it's not $16.00 per pound* good.

* price as I remember it from 2010. Serving suggestion only. Your mileage may vary.

I read somewhere that they sell tasting boxes with different flavours.
How many samples are there per box and how much does it cost?

It's not that good. The "turtle" fudge only has a little smear of caramel on top. No layer of caramel and pecans like you find at other places. It used to be good. No longer. Most of the snacks they sell in the Confectionary and other locations are not that good any more. They are losing a bunch of money on me with these changes.

I've never had the fudge there but the karmel kitchen in Germany in Epcot has amazing fudge/chocolate!! I love the turtles and Carmel covered in milk chocolate with sea salt!!!!

Actually, I used to own a fudge business. $16 was my average price for a pound of fudge. I was quite surprised to know that my fudge prices were higher than Disneyland. But my product was much better.

I agree with you about the caramel! However, I have had the fudge... and found all flavors to be disappointing.

We're arriving from overseas to Orlando. At home we don't have fudge to buy :-(
Where can we get good fudge in Orlando if not at disney?

We got ours at the candy store on Main Street as well and my family thought it was delicious. Be careful if you're planning to put it in your carryon for the plane ride home though. We had to pull it out at the security check at the airport because apparently it looks an awful lot like C4 when it goes through the X-ray machines. :scared:

I used to buy all the time because I thought it looked so good in the case. I finally stopped because it's expensive and just not that great (in my opinion, others may feel differently, of course). Although I agree with PP, the stuff in Germany is A-OK!

That sounds funny :). Where do you live that you can't find fudge??

That's because it's German Engineered! :)

Just wanted to add that the caramel and chocolate candy treats in Germany are way better (things with cake not so much as there're pretty dried out). I know it's not fudge but the sea salted caramels are sooooo gooood.:)

Okay, so before I state my opinion, we have to remember here that fudge is fudge. When it's "bad", it's still pretty good. :)

So, my opinion on Disney fudge is that it's not as creamy as I would expect out of fudge. All in all, I'm not running into the parks to get my hands on that fudge. I really only pick up fudge if my trip is over and I'm using up my snack credits as I'm leaving the parks.

Where outside of disney can you get creamy fudge?
How's 'the fudgery' at premium outlet?

I also don't care to much for their fudge.
What DH and I do enjoy, are their mammoth pecan chocolate patties. They are sooo good! :goodvibes

It's basically the same. Nothing like homemade fudge. Unless you like that marshmallow cream stuff.

But I make some really good chocolate fudge and peanut butter marshmallow fudge. Got the recipes from my mom and grandmother.

When the fudge was made on site at Main Street Confectionary it was pretty good. Now it's pretty mediocre. We would always buy a box of fudge on our lat day but haven't bought any in a long time.

Me too! My favorite snack used to be the dark chocolate mint smoothie bars at Goofys, BW Confectionary, and the Main Street bakery. I always brought some home with me and liked them alot more than the fudge squares, because they were creamier. Then one trip they just disappeared. I had not read anything here on the DIS about them being discontinued, so was shocked when my absolute favorite snack was suddenly not available. I went to Goofys, Main Street Bakery and the BW Confectionary. At each location, the CMs said there had been quite a few people asking about them and they had no idea why they were discontinued as there were always among their best sellers.:confused3 The fudge changed about that time too, I think (got harder, not as creamy, too much powdered sugar in it). I also used to love the huge white chocolate, macadamia nut, raspberry cookies they had at the various bakeries, but then they started making them very, very dry and hard, so haven't had one of those in a few years either.

My favorite chocolate snack now are the dark chocolate sea salted caramels over at the Karmel Kuche in Germany.
