I was reading a thread about height restrictions and I started thinking about my own son's height. Right now he is 39 inches when barefoot. We are going to WDW in December, so he should easily be 40 inches in shoes by then, right?

I hope so- he was going to be my partner on BTMRR! ;) (DD and DH won't ride!)

My ds is in the 90th percentile for height. he just turned four a little over a month ago and measures 42.5". I think it's totally possible for you ds to grow an inch between now and December. In shoes, he should have no problems. My ds loves BTMRR, btw.

Dd's were both over 43"... right now my 6 yr old is over 4' and my 4 yr old is 2 inches shorter than her sister who is 22 months older... DS is over 3 feet and he's not even 2... I dont think you can really judge a kids height just by age...

and yes I think he'll be plenty big enough to go on with you by then :)

Oh, I agree, all kids are different. I just don't have experience with boys at this age. Both of my kids are 50th percentile for height and they always seem to be small when compared to their peers. I guess I am just looking for reassurance that he should be tall enough to ride the 40" rides by then.

I can't remember what DS's height was at 4, but DD was 42" by the time she turned 4.

You'll be fine with DS being 40" by December. There's no doubt in my mind. He's probably there now with shoes on!!

My son is 3 years, 9 mos and is just 40 inches. (Jeez, I hope their mesaurements are the same! LOL) He was 38" at his 3 year appointment. You just never know. My DD was very tall and then only grew one inch between 4 and 5.

My ds just turned 5 in April and I just realized he has outgrown his carseat (in height not weight). He's 44'' but only 38 lb. Tall and skinny :goodvibes

Our DS will be four in August and as of last month he was 43 inches. We're hoping he hits 44" for our Sept. trip :rotfl2:

I would think that your DS will grow atleast 1" by December. My DD grows 4-5" per year. The doctor said that around 2"/year is normal so with over 6 months to go you should be fine.

DS at 4 was 45 inches. He was off the charts starting at 9 mos. I would say your son should grow atleast 1 inch by December.

My DS is the exact same height and weight, but he'll be turning 6 in a month. I don't see a future quarterback in him!

My DS is on the short side. At his 4 yr check-up, he was 39 in. 6 months later when we went to WDW, he was a little over 40 in.

I'm feeling like my kid is a bit short;) When he turned 4 last summer, he was 39". When we went to WDW in December (so almost 4 1/2) he was JUST over 40"--close enough that we warned him that he might be able to ride everything. The only ride he wanted to ride that height mattered was Splash Mountain and he was able to. He will be 5 in a month and he is about 43" now. It was a big growing year for him:thumbsup2

DS5 gets his height from my wife's side of the family, and I have been watching with keen interest since December. In just a few days we head to WDW and he is now about 39 and 3/4" in bare feet. Whew... I'm sure we would have lots of fun either way, but the fact that he can now do BTMRR and Test Track, among others, will really MAKE the trip. :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

DS was 4 in September and was 47.5" today at the dr's office. Thinking that he may make it on everything but driving the Tomorrowland Speedway on our trip in December!

I'm sure that the OP's DS will gain an inch by the end of the year!
