I'm a male and they say the average height for us is 5'9".

Why do I feel short among alot of women and men??

But I'm built like a bulldog.Shoulder to shoulder measures 48"wide with a 34" belt size and weigh 230lbs.

I am shrinking so am only 4' 8" tall. I am soon going to be more wide than tall. It probably won't be long LOL I do climb the shelves to reach things. I also hate always having to ask people for things but do what I have to. It looks like I win the short contest so far. LOL

5'7 - I always tower over all my friends. I feel awkward and gangly!

But, DH is 6'6 and my boys are on their way there - DS6 is about 4'6 and DS4 is a little over 4'0. At least I will feel short amongst my immediate family!!

My paternal grandmother was 4'8". My oldest is 4'10".
Of course, the middle one is 1 and 5'7".

5' 1/2"... and yes, that 1/2 inch is very important! DD is almost 13 and so far, hasn't passed me up yet. She is probably exactly 5'. I expect by the end of the summer, she'll be taller than me. The pediatrician predicted she will top out at 5'2"- she is counting on being taller than me eventually.

DH is 5' 6" and DS15 is 5' 9".
