And all that is good but please don't vent on the Cast Members at Guest Relations because they have nothing to do with what is published on the website. The people who are publishing on the website probably have never been to a Disney park. So, if you "go off" on a Cast Member who is doing their job to try and make a live customer happy, well, that's not good either.

Who said anything about "going off" on a cast member at guest services?
I don't go to guest services to vent. I go there to report a bad experience and get issues resolved.

If you have a problem in the parks where else is it you should go to express your dissatisfaction and to have it corrected? Guest services is the only appropriate place once in the parks. It is possible to voice your complaint in a sane and rational manner. If at that point, you are not satisfied with the results then you contact guest services once you get home via email. As I said, it worked fine for us, so no issue for us.

Of course anyone who has a problem and complains should do it calmly. Ranting and raving rarely gets you anywhere.

If those working at guest services don't know the published policies of WDW, that's a problem. I think they're probably pretty familiar with them since one of their main responsibilities is to handle issues guests have. If they aren't aware of this issue, it makes me wonder if perhaps the idea that using the rider switch as they tell you to do on the website actually works more than you would think it does by reading here.

If they really do things differently than they say- and btw, I also confirmed this policy via chat and saved that as well due to all the comments from others on the Dis saying that you can't do this- then I would think they would have people complaining quite a bit. Not everyone who visits WDW is on the Dis.
