How Stress Free Does Disney Make This???

I would have to say that this is a huge stressor for us girls...You only get one day to start the rest of your lives together...So, it has to be perfect...

SO I ask this-how stress free does Disney make all of this? Do things show up like clock work? Are you wisked away at the exact minute to get your hair done...Do they go as far as making sure that DH2B doesnt set eyes on you until that exact minute those doors open and you are at the end of the aisle? I'm thinking the mice and Cinderella here...If I ask for a glass of water are they already pouring me one b4 I ask?

I know this might sound kind of princess petty...but if I'm gonna spend some serious cash...how does this whole event planner thing work?

To be honest, every single part of our Disney wedding was so stress-free, it was almost unbelievable. The day of our wedding was so perfect....Disney has this down to a science The events of the day went SOOOO smoothly....it was a dream come true. Looking back, I still can't believe how perfect the whole day was We had a custom wedding (so we spent some serious cash as well) and Ken (our planner) did a fantastic job. Everything (flowers, etc.) showed up at the exact right moment.

They ask you ahead of time if you plan on seeing your husband-to-be before the wedding or not. We chose NOT to see eachother ahead of time. They do a FANTASTIC job of making sure you DON'T see eachother, if that is what you want. All of the Fairy Tale Weddings people are constantly in touch with eachother on the day of your wedding (telling you things like, the groom has now left the lobby, it's safe for the bride to come down, etc.), so you can be 100% sure that you will NOT see your husband-to-be unless you want to.

When BF and I went to Disney he kicked and screamed the entire planning period-but by the time disney was done with him he was a true believer...

Any other experiences out there?

Not sure about the water thing...LOL...but on my event order it has listed to have Mr. Pibb for the bride on just about every sheet...so I have a feeling that if I want a Mr. Pibb...it will almost be ready by the time I ask for it! LOL

Here's another example of attention to detail....our meal included asparagus, but we had 3 guests who didn't like asparagus and wanted green beans instead. All I did was voice this to Ken and pass along a seating diagram, and bam, it was done. We had a few other slight menu tweaks for various people and everything was executed perfectly. About the water thing, when my husband and I got in the limo on our way to the reception, we were asked if we'd like to have any drinks waiting for us when we got there (we both wanted WATER! lol), and as soon as we got out of the limo at the convention center, our water was right there waiting for us

I think my wife was on the phone for 45 minutes to plan ours and it went perfect!!!!!!!!!

This is soooo good to hear! DD just signed her contract, Disney cashed our check, and now we are anxious to begin. Its very reassuring to hear that you felt that everything was so well planned and ran well. It's exactly what we hoped for DD's dream wedding.

I agree with Snow_White, Disney made our day PERFECT. I don't think it could have been any better.
When DH and I arrived at the GF for our reception there was a glass of diet pepsi waiting for me as we walked in the door and a bud for my DH. Disney treats you like a princess all day. My DH and I had our pictures together with the bridal party before the ceromony and our EM and the photographers made it so special when we saw each other for the first time. I will never forget it.
I tell everyone Disney will make your Wedding a dream come true.

I agree with everyone. Disney is in the business of making dreams come true, and their weddings are no exception. Everything is just clock work, a whole seamless process. That have thought of everything and they give you an Event Manager that will answer all your questions and give your requests to the proper people to handle it. It was absolutely, hands down the best time of my life. Not even just the day itself but the planning. I had millions of questions for my Event Manager and I would email her constantly and she would respond quickly, courtesly, and with answers.

Trust me, Disney Weddings are totally stress free. I keep thinking about if I had a wedding here at home how stressful that would have been. I wouldn't have changed one thing about the wedding.

Of course you're going to stress about it - it's your wedding day! It's one of the few days in your life you are forgiven if you totally freak out

Ours was an Intimate, so there was less to worry about than a Custom, but I have to say it went like clockwork. Everything was 100% completely and absolutely perfect! As my DH said, "Disney does thousands of weddings, they know what they're doing, don't worry about it!"

Okay...I just have to say this...

You will get stressed (it's natural), I'm not sure there is EVER such a thing as a "stress free wedding".

You will (most likely) go "back and forth" with Disney on a couple of things...

Chances are your first "itinerary/schedule" will have some errors on it...

BUT!!!

In the end (as others have said) you will realize that you had to stress less than most brides because you had the Disney magic backing you up! As others have mentioned, Disney has this wedding stuff down to a science and even if YOU are stressed thinking there isn't enough time, etc...Disney WILL pull it all together for a most magical day!

I have to agree with everyone on here. I have LOVED planning this wedding. It has been so easy and stress-free. Of course you worry and stress on your own but thats natural. Disney takes the majors worries out fo your hand. When I told people I went to Disney in Nov. and planned my entire wedding day in 6 hours they were in shock. Some women I know are running saround like maniacs chasing after catering and linens and floral. Disney can do it all

Yes, the juxtaposition of me planning my Disney wedding and my friends planning their local weddings last year was CRAZY!! These girls were running around like chickens with their heads cut off--every single weekend for MONTHS they had to meet with their florist or their bakery or their caterer or their DJ or their photographer (the list goes ON AND ON). Plus they had to worry about paying everyone individually--a deposit due here, everything due there, etc.--it's a ton of accounting to keep track of. PLUS, the quality of service that they received (in most cases) was NOTHING like what we receive at Disney (I was a guest/participant in most of their weddings) Be it the flowers, the food, or the locations. Disney blows everyone else away.

When you compare all of that to a Disney wedding, it is almost funny how LITTLE you have to do....Disney treats you wonderfully and takes care of everything for you (as much as you want them to, at least). All you have to do is make sure that your BEO is EXACTLY right and you can rest assured that the day will go as smooth as possible.

Can you tell that I LOVED my Disney wedding, or what? LOL

The majority of my stress has come from family and future family members. Disney has not caused one ounce of stress for me. I have the BEST EM and Florist that I could hope for. They are helping me make changes that I need on a dime. Being two weeks out it is CRAZY!

Ours also went smoothly. I did request that water be waiting for me and a black and tan be awaiting DH and after we returned from taking a few pictures we were handed them. Nice! Disney knows what they are doing, this is very reassuring. And if you need ideas or suggestions they always have one. I knew that a bunch of coordination betwen my EM and Day of Coordinator, Catering Manager/staff, etc was conducted but I didn't know how much until I was assiting with a friends Disney wedding. Going with Disney was much more easy going than if we went with a local site and vendors.

As for hair, my aunt did it so I can't vocuh for that. But we were provided a getting ready room that was available to us almsot as early as we wanted. Plus they kept a steady stream of ice water flowing to us (it was a warm day). There was also communication between FTW and our photohgraphers to make sure that DH and I didn't see eachother before the ceremony. Oh, we were also able to talk with Disney stressing our need for more time regarding photography than they had alotted for us.

FTW are pros, everything will go smoothy, and even if something doesn't go perfectly you probably won't notice as it's a busy day or they caught it before anyone would notice. Definately worth the pricetag.
