I've visited both the Poly and GF before, but never stayed. Both resorts promote themselves as "monorail resorts," but to me, both resorts seem rather spread out, and thus, the appeal of the monorail diminishes when one returns from the park at the end of a long day (with kids) and you get off the monorail at GS, then have to take the elevator to the ground floor, walk out the building and across the grounds to your own building.
So I'm wondering -- for those of you who have stayed at GF and Poly -- how bad were those walks to and from the monorail / mail building with tired young children in tow? I'm trying to decide whether to just go ahead and booke GF concierge-level in the main building, and whether the convenience is really worth the extra (big) bucks.
Thanks!
Linda
