Their might be a possibility of some friends joining us for our annual trip to the world this year. They have a baby that would be about 9-10 months old at the time of our trip. Do you think that this is to young for a child to go to the world? Obviously he is not going to remember anything but i wanted to know if anyone had any other concerns?

Our oldest was 3 years old on her first trip, our middle was 9 months old on her first trip and our youngest was 10 months old on hers. My only regret it that we waited to long to take our oldest. It is so fun to watch the babies experience Disney and soak it all in. I'd say no way is it too young. Some of my best memories are of our babies in the world...

We are going in November and taking a 7 month old. I think you will be fine.

That's not too young at all. It is a really fun age! We're taking our youngest on her first trip in May, she'll be just a few days shy of 10mo. I didn't get to take the older kids at that age, although we did travel elsewhere with them, so I'm really looking forward to it. :)

My first trip was when I was only 6 weeks old! My cousin (now a Disney CM) came along with our family to help with me. My nephews just got back from their vacation there and they are 4, 2, and 7 months old. I can't wait to take my 2 yr. old son on his first trip to "Kickmouse" house this summer.

Our DS actually turned 3 months old in the middle of his 1st disney trip :) Since then he's been at 9 months, we had his 1st bday there, at 15 mos, 20 months and we're getting ready to go again in 2 months.

We brought our daughter last year at 6 months and had a great time. She was great all day and fast asleep in the car carrier/stroller by 8 (often when we were in the arcade with the oldest or at dinner). We will be returning again in 3 weeks with her now being 18 months.

Ok, we had our 9 month old, and a three year old our first visit. I actually think that our 9 month old did better. She was a real trooper, we were there for 9 days. We had table service reservations every nite, and made all the nite time shows at all the parks. Around day 5 or 6 we took a break in the rooms and just chilled. She loved it and soaked it all in. When she was tired she slept in her stroller. She loved all the entertainment. I think that that the younger they are sometimes they are actually easier. I will say whoever takes alittle one does have alot of stuff to carry around, but totally worth it. I have a great pic of my 9 month old kissing mickey's nose. Priceless.;)

Yep, took my guy who turned 10 months on our trip. He loved the characters (although he had the same reaction when a character came to our table as when the waiter came to the table, lol). And he LOVED watching the other kids.

I have never taken an infant to WDW but, last week we were in HS and a lady was carrying a baby so tiny I had to ask how old she was. The mom then told me she was 2 weeks old that day! Insane IMHO! :rotfl:

I dont think theres a problem with that age at all.

When we were in disney last year we saw a 3 week old!!!!!!!!! We were so shocked by the size we went to ask the parents how old and when they said 3 weeks we almost fell over!!!!!!!!!!! They were there for there 5 year olds birthday and werent going to let a 3 week old stop them

IMO this is WAY too young to bring a baby to WDW

Thats crazier then having a 3 week old. At least wait untill your baby's age is going to be counted in months to go to WDW

On our last few trips we've actually seen a large increase in young babies. We see kids all the time we swear could have been born just days before

We waited until ds was 13mos but he was a preemie so he was 10mos adjusted age when we went. IMO it was a worthwhile trip. He was a good little traveler and enjoyed himself. It certainly much easier than when he was in his terrible twos...lol. We would have taken him a little earlier if it hadn't been for his preemie status but we waited just to be on the safe side.

I could see taking one of mine at that age if we lived within driving distance... I wouldn't want to fly with a brand new little one, but the actual being at Disney World wouldn't bother me any. They go everywhere else with me, why not there? :rotfl:

I don't think 9-10 months old is too young, the baby might not remember but the parents will remember the look of wonder on the child (who may be interested in the colors) There IS a too young ( I think under two months, personally) but the 9-10th month year old is not too young, besides for memories, you can buy a throw blanket or something there and have it embroadered (spelling, blah) to say "Baby's First Trip" or something.

I don't really think the AGE of the child is such a big deal. I've never let having a young infant keep us from going anywhere. My thought was why start tippy toeing around them as babies, then you have to always and that creates bigger problems down the road (ask my sister who cant ever be more then 3 hours away from her home as her ds won't sleep or relax ANYWHERE but at home) our motto has always been have baby, will travel :) and as a result, our children have always been awesome very adapable travelers. We love love love traveling and am not going to stay home because of an "age". To me, more important then the age of the traveler is the TEMPERMENT of the traveler and this applies to babies as well as grown ups.

with that said, remember, the 8 month old (or really any age under about 2) is not going to remember the trip. For some reason, people aways seem to say, he'll remember it more if you wait until he's 4/5 As I tell people who think we should not 'Drag" our 6 month places when he was a baby... when he's 4/5 the trip will be for HIM. right now (at 6 months or whenever it was) the trip is for ME and the memories I get to see through his eyes. granted, they were 3 and 6 first time we went to WDW, but we did TONs other traveling before that. It does CHANGE the trip to have a young one along, but it's usually changed for the BETTER.
:)

We took a 9 week old, but would of had no problem going at 3 weeks either. We just happened to have the trip planned for november and she was born in august.
She was easy as pie!

When my first was born we travled cross country to see my family when she was 10 days old. Easy as pie! She slept the whole time, we drove, it was fine.
