How soon for Placeholder reservation to show up?

I filled out a placeholder reservation slip on our last day of the extended by Hurricane Matthew Dream cruise on 10/8. As of today I do not have a reservation listed in my DCL account, my travel agent has yet to contact me about a reservation and my credit card has yet to be charged. Did someone on the ship mess up? Should I call DCL about this or does it take a while to process?

In the past when I have booked these, they show up right away. However the one I booked last week took a long time to show up. We booked on Oct 4, so in the middle of hurricane chaos. Our credit card was finally charged 2 days ago. That is also the first time the place holder showed up in our upcoming cruises under the Castaway Club online. I never did receive the confirmation email (I didn't get a paper copy on board - live and learn), so I finally called this afternoon and they sent it right out. I'm guessing that getting place holder bookings squared away was not a great priority for them during all of the cancellation / rebooking mess that went on last week. If you don't see it in a day or so, I'd call them, but I bet it shows up eventually.

Good luck!

It took several weeks for it to show up on ours last time we cruised (December). Then when it did, since we just booked a placeholder, not a real date, you couldn't change the placeholder into an actual cruise online - I had to call DCL to make the real reservation. Wasn't crazy about that because I prefer to do it all myself online.

It never showed up for us and I actually had a bit of a panic attack because the gift card I gave to the CM to use still had it's full $250 balance. I ended up calling, they found the reservation and re-sent it to me. They claim it sent me a confirmation, but I never found it (not in my inbox or spam folder.)

(Later, I found a charge for $250 on my credit card. Thankfully, I had tossed the gift card in my travel binder instead of tossing it, which I almost did!!)

They were having internet problems on that cruise (10/3 Dream) so it might take a little longer to process than usual. That said, I have received confirmation emails for my and two clients' reservations already so would probably call if you haven't seen it yet.

I was also on that cruise and purchased a place holder. I did receive my confirmation but was under my five year old daughters name !!! Finally got that issued resolved. I think the hurricane Matthew craziness messed them up.

Booked a placeholder on the West Bound last month, still no confirmation and nothing on the cc.
I will make a call this week.

It took about 10 days for a charge to show up on my CC (several days after the charge for the rest of the cruise), yet I haven't received a confirmation yet. I was going to give it the weekend and then follow up (the charge showed up late last week).

When I cruised to Alaska earlier this year, I booked an OBB placeholder by turning in the form (there was always a long line at the future cruise desk). I didn't see the reservation on my CC and I didn't get an email, so I called DCL. They didn't have record of it, so they had me send an email to guest communications. I ended up getting a phone call from DCL three weeks after we got home. They said that there were so many OBB on my cruise that the ship sent the forms to shoreside to complete them all. They were apologetic about the delay. It all worked out, but I was nervous that my form had been lost.

Perhaps with the Hurricane, they've done something similar and sent the forms shoreside?
