How soon for Air tran check in?

Hello.
Just a question about online Air Tran check in. It says that I can select my seats 24 hrs ahead. Is it exactly 24 hrs or can it just be the day before? Does anyone know? I just don't want to go on at 11:00 am which will be 24 hrs before my flight and have the seats gone!! I have never done online check-in before so I am an amateur.

You can check in exactly 24 hours ahead. Surprisingly, not as many people do this as you might think. I have done it 4 times so far and have never had a problem getting 5 seats together. The first time, I jumped in right at that 24 hour mark and practically the whole plane was still available. I will say this though. Make sure you are at MCO 1 1/2 to 2 hours early for check in. It can be a bit of a madhouse at the Airtran check in counter. My brother refers to it as the cattle call. I have found that it is hit or miss. Sometimes it's crazy and sometimes it's not but to be on the safe side I always give myself plenty of time. (Not that being stuck in Orlando would be such a bad thing! )
