Trip is 3 weeks away and Im so tempted to start packing
Whats wrong with me?
Maybe if I just start a packing list that will tide me over
How soon do you start packing?

I started making lists about 2 weeks out, but we started the actual packing just the weekend before we left on Wednesday night. I can certainly rationalize starting earlier, 'cause then if you find out you need something -- travel size toiletries, socks without holes, a new suitcase 'cause you've filled up all the ones you have and there's still stuff to pack:lmao:-- you have plenty of time to get it without it being a crisis.

We leave on Saturday, and I haven't started yet! :scared: I have to work on Thursday and we have HSM on ice Thurs night. No work for me or school for the kids on Friday, so the plan was for it to be a total packing day. However, things keep getting added to the day....haircuts for my DD's, lunch with mom..... I'm determined not to have a late night packing but it's not looking good!

We leave in 5 1/2 weeks, and I have already started thinking about it! In order to pack though, I'd need to put away the months of unfolded laundry that have piled up on the spare bed in order to make room for suitcases. That just isn't happening anytime soon!

Maybe this weekend...just the basics like swim suits, and some new things that I got especially for the trip!

Magical Express packets came this week...the trip is actually starting to seem real!!!!

We leave in 17 days and I am beginning to make my list. I sorta cleaned out the kids dresser this weekend and I moved things over to one side that were really summer things and I can just pull those out to pack. I am stressing though about what really to take. I've been watching the 10 day outlook and also looked at some sites that posted weather from previous nov's. I don't want to pack too much b/c we are staying offsite with a washer and dryer and I will be able to wash our favorite things. So what is your best advice on what to pack to be comfortable in nov?

We leave Saturday morning and I have not packed at all. I will probably start tomorrow. But I have been saying that for 4 days now :rotfl:

It is, now, 1am Thursday, November 1st. We are leaving for the airport at 4pm today. I can't sleep (I work nights) so I just started packing now.

For winter trips, i start weeks out with shorts and things we will not need!! I always fininsh the day before when I do laundry and add things as they come out of the dryer. i love geting ready for a trip and always have a WDW box with things I start collecting months ahead like t-shirts, special snacks, ponchos or whatever. I also frequent the freebie thread and have a bag of sample size items that we fill up the cosmetic case with.

My sister on the other hand will come home from work at 4:00 and throw her stuff in the suitcase and they will be on the road in an hour!!!!! They travel to WDW a lot more often that our family but do not get into the extra neat stuff like matching t-shirts etc.

We leave in 10 days, and I want to get started since I work all week next week. I'm trying to do it at the same time I switch out our summer clother for the wintery ones. Haven't done that yet, though, since we've had such a warm October. I've just had to grab a long sleeved shirt here and there so far. But YES - I want to start packing - SOON! :laundy:

I'll be working overtime almost every weekend between now and when we leave, so I may do a preliminary "layout" over Thanksgiving weekend, to make sure I have everything. That way if I do still need "something", I've got the time to get it ("honey, I need to go shopping........:rolleyes1 )

We are going in April....and I have already started:rotfl2:

I think I need an intervention:rotfl:

5 weeks from today, we'll be in the car on our way. :) I've started buying the things we'll possibly need - Disney gloves for MVMCP, that sort of thing. I'm going to work on my packing list next week, so I have a few weeks to buy the stuff we don't already have. That way if I order anything, it'll have time to get here. As we buy stuff it gets set aside, but I won't actually pack until a day or two before we leave. Even if I make a list and cross things off, I worry about something getting taken out. So I wait until the very last minute to acutally pack it all up.

We leave on the 29th and I'll start packing this weekend, I've already got somethings ready to go like DD's new dress for Akerhaus and some things live in a vacation box, for example, I've got laundry and dish cleaning kits that go with us that just get put back in the vacation box when vacation is over. As for clothing, I will start putting the summer type clothing in the suitcases, I would have done that already but the weather can't make up it's mind here in VA and it's been downright HOT lately.

I was actually starting to feel a little unnerved about not having started. Nevermind that I've got plenty of sewing to do before we get there, so many customs, so little time.

we dont go for 7 more months :sad2: but have already started getting things grouped that we dont need to forget (rain ponchos, swimwear and water filters for bottled water and trading pins)

I used to pack as I "bought". Then because of my OCD I would just unpack and repack the nigthbefore anyway--just to be SURE I didn't forget anything. Even though I had a list and marked it "off". So now I just do the night before. I can't sleep that night anyway! Maybe 2 days before at the most.

We leave in 3 weeks to and I'm wanting to start packing too! I'm thinking about starting to pack some of the warmer clothes we might need--shorts, short sleees, capris (we're taking some of everything) because we are into long pants and sweaters now in MD.

A few months ago I started a "Disney trip" bag that I've been throwing stuff in--little things for the kids to do in the car, glow sticks, travel soaps, shiny pennies/quarters (for pressed pennies), etc.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that is biting at the bit to start packing!

Amy
