How soon can you have guests?

When we drop my DD off in August for her CP, we were thinking of staying for a few days to enjoy the parks. But how soon is she able to use her guest pass to bring us into the parks? Or will we have to buy park passes? And can anyone tell us what the CM discount on park passes is? Is there a discount on the annual passes?

I'm going to be doing the program in August, and from what I understand, it'll be a few weeks before we can get anyone other than ourselves into the parks. We have to use what is called a Maingate Pass to get our guests in, and that won't come until about 2-3 weeks after we've checked in.

Also, discounts don't start until after the first day of work, which is usually the 3rd or 4th day we're there. So if ya'll are planning on staying for those first few days, you're probably going to have to pay full price for tickets.

Not to mention that she won't be getting her Disney ID on the first day she gets there, so she won't be able to get into the parks for free straight away either. You have to wait a bit for everything to kick in when you arrive.

The Blue Maingate pass takes about a month or two to arrive, and I can't remember for the discount on tickets (which you would need your Disney ID to get anyway).

I don't recall having ever been able to get anyone in for free working as a CP. I was given something like 3 one day passes and that was it. I could only get myself in for free, no one else, unless that's changed.

Blue Main Entrance Passes are sent to your home of record when you first join disney after two weeks of employment. I have had heard Disney sent an ICP his blue main gate pass all the way to China he didn't realize it when his parents said they got something from disney that was blue and said main entrance pass and he had to go to the Celebration office to get his blue one made again!

It's changed since 2005. Now CPs get a Maingate for letting people into the parks

I guess things have changed. I don't remember my mom ever getting passes at home, but I do remember her getting 50% off a deluxe room when she came to visit. It's been a long time since I've done the college program!! It would seriously have been nice to have had a Maingate pass lol ... now I feel cheated lol. I think we only got like 3 passes. Grrrrr lol.

All the way to China! That's wild! What a trip those passes took!
