How soon can I make a ressie?

Thanks in advance for any help!
I just bought DVC this year, use year is Feb. I banked all this years points. My DH and I would like to do a late October cruise on points next year. How soon can I make the ress?
Can I do it before Feb by borrowing 02 points? Or do I need to wai till Feb of 02?

Non-DVC reservations may be made 11 months in advance using points. For an Oct cruise, you can call MS in Nov (11 months from the final day of the cruise).

As long as the points will be there by Oct, 2002- you may make the reservation in Nov, 2001.

Hey Doc, thanks for the info, and perdidobay for asking this. We are thinking of using points for a cruise in February 2003 and were wondering when to call. I've just starting reading the cruise board and ordered the info from Disney.

Just a note on the 'borrowing" comment you made. If you call in November to set up the Oct 2002 cruise, you won't need to "borrow" any points. Points used for any trip are determined by the time you will be on the trip not the time you call and reserve. Thus, whatever points you have available for Oct 2002 (those banked from this year and those issued Feb 2002) will apply without any borrowing. Many get confused about their use year thinking it has a relationship to when you can call to reserve--there is no relationship, you can always call to reserve 11 months out for home resort or any non-DVC resort, and 7 months out for other DVC resort. Use year simply determines points that will be available at time trip is made.
