How slow is the transportation at AKL

We are thinking of booking at AKL but I am a little nervous about the transportation. What has everyone's experience been with this?

We always stay there. It's been hit or miss for us. In September, the buses to DHS took FOREVER. If you just missed one, you wanted at least 30 minutes for the next one, which by that time, there was a long line and you had to practically shove your way on because people just walking up jumped the line and got on first and there was never enough room for everyone. The rest of the buses were good. In January (last year), no issues at all. We're going again in 2 weeks and staying there again. Hoping for an easy time again.

If you're staying at Jambo, you have to wait for the buses to go to Kidani first so there's always a chance they can be full when they get to you (except DTD, which is the opposite). A lot depends on when you're going with that.

All in all, we love the resort more than the bus problems so we continue to stay there and just leave earlier than we need to in order to get where we want to go.

Honestly, we say there two times a year and have never had a horrible time. We go in summer and although fall is easier, we found that summer hasn't been bad either. The most we have ever waited is 20 minutes for a bus.

We had great transportation. The ride to MK was about 20 minutes. The ride to the other parks was 5-10 minutes.

We stayed there for the first time this past summer. Heading in to our trip, I would say my biggest worry was what the transportation would be like. I was fearful that it would take forever to arrive, be forever to the parks, and be inconsistent (based on what a lot of people posted from past experiences). Thankfully, we had no problems at all. It was prompt and consistent every morning when we left, and it didn't take long to get to any of the parks. We did have to wait awhile for the buses on a couple of days that we went back to the hotel and returned to the park for a late afternoon (20-25 min.). I think that's not unusual for any resort though. Don't let the fear of the transportation worry you. It ended up being a great experience for us, and the resort was WONDERFUL!!!

We stayed at Kidani, always had a seat and never waited long for a bus. The ride to the park itself seemed on the longer side to me (except for AK obviously), but not much more than the other resorts we have stayed at.

We had wonderful bus service when we stayed. We never waited more than 10 minutes for a bus, whether we were going to or coming from the parks. We did not go to DTD, but we have never had much luck with any of the resort buses coming and going from there. :confused3

We are here now and since we have stayed at MK resorts in the past, was prepared for the worse case scenario. We are not doing parks this trip so we have needed to take our buses to a park and then to another resort to eat & shop. We have never had better bus service. The busses have been more than plentiful. Only once did we have a 15 minute wait. But normally the busses are waiting on us when we walk up or there within a few minutes. We are staying at Kidani so we get most of the busses first.

We used to stay Beach club alot in the past. We had a nightmare today when going to Cape May for breakfast. We waited for well over half an hour for a bus at Beach club today and we basically could get on any bus except MK to get back to AKL. The only bus that came thru for ever was 2 MK busses. Forgot how bad their bus service was. And they have 2 parks really close to them!

We stayed there last August and never had an issue. I think it is right on par with other resorts. Buses were plentiful and consistent. I wouldn't hesitate at all to stay at AKL.

I was at Jambo House back in December (got upgraded to there from All Star Sports...thanks Pop Warner kids!). Had a couple of long waits on two different mornings; one day was a 25 minute wait for a bus to the Studios, another was a 30 minute wait for an Epcot bus. The other two days when I went to the Magic Kingdom I waited no longer than 10 minutes for a bus.

We had 2 stays. Last one was 12 nights last August. Transportation was fine. No worse then any other resort. The occas longer then usual wait can happen at any resort.
