How should I plan for the ADR's?

Hey everyone!! I have been reading about the DDP because we booked a 10 day trip in late Aug/Sept, taking advantage of free dining! There are 8 of going (2A and 6 kids), ages 13, 11, 11(nephew), 9,7 and 4. This questions may well be a "duh" question, but since it's our first time going, I have to ask. I am getting ready to make my ADR's, but shouldn't I plan what parks we are going to first then figure out the ADR's. (Make sense to me)

What planning books are out there that are great to use and/or should I use Tour Guide Mike???

There are 2 MUST HAve guides since you are a "first timer"--Birnbaum's WDW guide and the Unofficial Guide to WDW. They are FABULO US and give lots of info on the best attractions, rides and food.

That's what I did.
I planned what parks we would be going to that day
and made my ADR's around that because I like to
have everything organized and not have to rush
to get to a ADR in time.
I looked up menus for all of the parks resaurants and resort resaurants on Allears,
I didn't want to buy another book. Allears has all of the updated menus.

We will be going to DTD DQuest and that was like
a free for all(we could go anywhere from there because it's like a hub for DisTransportation) I didn't want to eat at DTD so
I choose to make ADRs for AKL at Boma's and take the AKL
resort bus from DTD.
We will go back the same way to DTD then take our resort boat (we are staying at POR).

All I can say is be a little flexable because of FD
you may not get your first Request for time and Day
at a particular Resaurant.
Call today so that you will get a jump on the crowds.
We are also going for FD and as soon as I got off of the phone
with Adding the FD to my Package I called and made ADRs
and was able to have what I wanted. I did this on April 9th.
