How secure are the Kid's Clubs?

Obviously, they're pretty secure since I've never heard anything bad about them, but what do they do specifically to ensure that a child leaves only with his or her parent?

Since these workers only see kids once or twice, there's no way for them to know who belong to who, kwim?

You don't just dump your kid at these clubs...it's not that kind of thing. You have to fill out some forms regarding who is allowed to pick up (amont other things like medical history, food likes, personality, etc.) and they issue you a beeper in case there is a problem. Me and DH have always been asked to show id when picking up our kids-no exceptions and we have used them dozens of times. The first thing you see when you enter the clubs is a desk and a supervising adult. No chance of the kids wandering out or an adult that doesn't belong there wandering in.

Just allow about 15 minutes for the paperwork you have to fill out when you are first dropping off. They usually will tell you that though when you call up to reserve.

My kids have always loved the clubs. DD seems to find all the arts and crafts stuff, while DS heads straight for video games. Most of the time they don't want to leave or they are asking when they can go back! Me and DH feel very secure using them and are at ease in knowing the kids are in a contained environment. :)

My DS6 absolutely loved the Kids club - it was his idea to want to go there, not ours. We just stopped in at the Sandcastle club to look at it one day and then our son asked to go. I wish they would have taken DS 1 as well ;)

Just as the PP mentioned, we had to fill out paperwork, get a beeper, etc. There is also someone always at the front desk area as well.

We felt very comfortable and DS had a fantastic time.

They made it very clear when we dropped off the kids that whoever signed them in would be the only one who can pick them up. I had paper work to fill out like others have mentioned. They gave us a beeper for emergencies, the phone # to the room just in case too. They were very professional and great with my kids. I was so worried especially leaving my 4 yr old for the first time, even though he was with his 9 yr old big sis! They had such a great time and didn't want to leave. They can't wait to go back. It was also very safe in there. There were curtains covering the doors so people passing by wouldn't see the kids. There were 3 people in the room with 3 kids when my kids were there at the Sandcastle Club at the BC. My kids kept saying how nice everyone was to them and how fun it was. I paid $11 per hour per kid and it included dinner, and the kids did sandart they got to take home and they had so many things to do and play with there. DD has also been to the Neverland Club at the Poly and loved it too!

Thanks for the responses! I feel much better about it now. I should know Disney has their bases covered.:thumbsup2
