I'm really in a state of shock; I just got of the phone with my brother, who told me that his future father-in-law suffered a heart attack earlier this evening. Joe (my brother's FIL) was out fishing with some of his friends, when he suddenly blacked out. He came around rather quickly, but he seemed confused and disoriented when he came around.
He was rushed to the hospital, and they discovered that he had suffered a heart attack. The good news is that it was a mild one, so his recovery time should be short. Right now, they are giving him medication to try to break up the clog, but if that doesn't work, they'll have to transfer him to a hospital in Philadelphia to perform open heart surgery. This possibility seems unlikely, as doctors are confident that the medications will work, but the possibility is scary. Keep those fingers crossed that things will work out!

He'll be in my thoughts.
