How scary is FJ? Can I just suck it up and do it?

If the computer can't recognize a full face from the photo, skulls are projected. So if your face is sideways or the car is slightly out of synch when the photo was taken, skulls will come up.

Kinda like lemons on a slot machine, eh? ;). I think they were 4 skulls across both times, probably a sync issue then.

The skulls have been coming up quite frequently actually, and I've tested it with putting my head back against the harness and looking straight forward, and still skulls. Something must be wrong with the picture software or the vehicle timing might be off by half a second.

I think you're right. When I was there in late August/early Sept people's faces were always there. However, everytime we rode it when we were there Oct 11th and Oct 14th they were just showing the skulls.

Last time I rode was in Oct. and I don't recall seeing skulls. Maybe I was looking to hard to see if my face was projected. I need to ask dh if he saw the skulls.

I've just read this thread through because I'm trying to figure out if I can ride this ride -- I'd hate to miss it if I don't have to.

So -- is FJ a roller coaster?? is it a fast ride like a roller coaster or is it more like the HM at WDW? A slow moving car with a wicked story?

Roller Coasters are definitely out. I tend to lose my last 4 lunches/breakfasts (and a few future meals) when I ride a roller coaster type ride - including ToT - so I want to make sure before I get on.

I don't mind the scary stuff jumping out at me... so thats all okay - its the motion and the updownsupsidedowns that get me.

Thanks!

Most comparable to Dinosaur. No upsidedowns but lots of motion.

Rode FJ yesterday (Thanksgiving) and saw my face projected. :) I asked DH if he saw his (we did child swap), and he said no. Not even skulls. :sad2:

Thanks for the update! We let the crowds get the best of us. Had dinner at Citywalk and left...

Just wanted to say I saw Deathly Hallows this afternoon in Imax. I was more scared and jumped more times than I did on the fj ride. I also have a new found fear of the dementors. ;)
