How Scary are the Heads in HM?

Okay, I'm way too old to be scared of the Haunted Mansion, but I'm am probably the biggest "scardy cat" on the planet. I've graduated to being able to watch everything in the HM except the attic part and the graveyard. I just don't want to see those heads pop up. My boyfriend says I'm weird and there's nothing to be scared, but I just can't bring myself to look (plus I think he's only saying that to get me to look). He tried to time the heads so he could show me other things in the graveyard, but he must have miscalculated because one popped up in front of my face and totally freaked me out. From what I've seen in last years video, it's a pretty grotesque looking head. However, I see 5 year olds watching it with no problem and feel like a big old wuss. So...from impartial parties, am I just weird? ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

The heads are much more comical than scary.

Everyone has things that bother them...I have always hated Haunted Houses, etc. The fact that I have ridden this ride lots of times and it doesn't scare me is amazing! The part that bothers me the most is the bride herself...I wish that part wasn't in there. The heads popping up to me aren't really scary, they don't seem to fit in with the whole rest of the ride. But I dont' think it's weird that it bothers you.

NOTHING scarey ever bothered me until I saw those heads pop up.

things popping up out of somewhere even when i know its comming---UGH!!!

i close my eyes in that part or look somewhere else :rotfl:

Even though I've been a gazillion times the heads still give me a bit of a start! :earseek: Although it has lessened since I had my son Erich. He's 11 now but we started when he was around 2 years old, when the head pops up and screams at us we scream right back at them!! :earboy2: Screaming at them seems to make it a whole lot less scarey!! Erich is to the point he knows when they're about to jump out and is like "Mommy here comes the next one....SCREAM!!!" :teeth: One time he and I got stopped for quite awhile in the graveyard with a popping head right by us....Erich and I were about horse when we came out that time!!!

Awe. Thanks for making me feel better. I thought I was the only one in the world who couldn't totally do the HM. I tell people I still haven't seen all of it and they look at me like I've grown another head. But yeah, that bride is creepy. For some reason, she reminds me of Miss Havisham from Great Expectations. Who knows why :confused3 . ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

My ds was 4 when we were last at Disney (He's 5.5 now) I was asking him about what rides he's looking forward to doing again on our trip next month. He mentions the Haunted Mansion. (Loves Halloween and spooky things!!!) But quickly adds, "Do you remember those heads Mom??" (Sorry to say I didn't) and he's like "THEY were scary!!!!!" Guess it left an impression!!!

there cheesy not scary but it is the greatest ride ever
