How safe is your stroller as you go on the ride?

Hi. We are bringing out 15 month old daughter to disney this summer. How safe is your stroller while you're in line to get on a ride? How can you be sure it won't get stolen? Does anyone have any tips?

Most likely it'll be fine. HOWEVER - it is not 100% safe. There is no one guarding it and someone could easily walk off with it. This is why we have a cheap travel stroller that meets all of our needs and we wouldn't be too upset if it were stollen. I know people here take all kinds of expensive strollers to WDW and have no problem, but a few have. Basically, it will depend on your comfort level.

Have a great trip!

I've broght a nice stroller every time and never had a problem. Some people swear by tying a clear plastic bag with a diaper in it to the handle and even adding a little coke for effect, to deter would be thieves. I have never tried this though, as I would be too embarrassed with garbage cans every 10 feet! Pretty funny though. One thing to remember is that CM's are always moving strollers around to improve traffic flow and for safety. I have had my stroller moved 20 feet from where I left it in a sea of strollers so it's good to make it identifiable in a crowd, especially if you have a common model. I always leave our big backpack in the bottom of the stroller, and use a bike lock through the bag straps and attach it to the stroller, so someone walking by can't casually grab the bag and walk off with it. I have also seen people wrap a brightly colored tape around the one of the poles of the stroller to make it identifiable, and then you could write your name all over the tape. I would guess someone who wanted a stroller would look for one with no identifying marks. Bring your stroller and don't worry about it....have a great time!!

We had NO problems. The only time we did get alittle freaked was when the cast members moved it while we were on a ride....didn't know they did that so it was a little of a :scared1: moment.

While it is never 100% safe, just don't leave anything you are not affraid to loose in it. :teacher: :)

We have a pretty expensive sit n stand stroller and my DH thought we could just take a bike paddle lock and hook it through a tire when we left it. That would make it impossible to push it anywhere for very long unless you lifted up the end the paddle lock was on. I have heard CM's sometimes need to move strollers...they could still move it, they would just have to lean it to stroll it. What do you all think??:confused3

It is my opinion that the likelihood of having a stroller stolen is very unlikely. However it is my experience that it is very likely if you leave anything of value in a stroller or in a bag left with the stroller that it will get stolen.
During a visit to Sea World in April 2006 I had a stroller experience worthy
of note. My wife and I and young daughter left our stroller in a stroller coral outside one of the animal exhibits. While I was parking the stroller I noticed
2 women roughly 45 years of age sitting on the ground in the coral area obscured from sight of the Sea World employee standing out front of the
attraction. I thought this was odd but did not ralize what they were doing.
When we came out roughly 15 minutes later the stroller was gone. I asked the attendant out front if he had moved any strollers and he said no. I proceeded to walk down past this exhibit and found my stroller about 100 yards away. It was obvious that every pocket in both bags that we had left in the stroller had been ckecked for valuables. Luckily we had no valuables in the stroller at the time. Not 30 minutes before that I had my wallet and our camera tucked inside one of these bags. We were lucky!!! On the way out
of the park, I noticed a Sea World security person and an Osceola Sherriff
officer at the exit. When I told them of my incident, they did not even bat an eyelash. They said, "It is not publicized for obvious reasons, but there are
thiefs at every park every day of the week. Never, not even for one moment
should you leave anything of value in a stroller. And look around for suspicious persons and report them to park staff." That is my story. I was lucky and learned my lesson without any loss.

I have never had a problem regarding our stroller in WDW, but the only thing I leave in it is the diaper bag and it contains only diapers, wipes and maybe some snacks. I have another bag that stays on my person and that's where all my valuables are kept. I sort of make it a rule to not enter the parks with anything that I would be heartbroken to lose.

We have traveled the last two years to Disney World and never had a problem with our strollers (we have nice ones too). We never, ever leave anything valuable in them though.
