DH travels a lot for business, and for some reason this one has me rather nervous. Does anyone know anything about the safety of travel to Morocco? And is there a government website about traveling to foreign countries, what precautions to take where?

I know I wouldn't go no matter if it is for my job or not. My friends sister married a moracan, he finally got his green card, they had a baby. he goes back home to see his mother (ya right, we think he has a wife over there.) he is always sedning money back home, he glears at you, I don't trust him or anyone in his country That is just my opinion.

Here are a few things I found:

Moroccan Travel (this is a UK site)

Google Search on Morocco

From a few links I read I wouldn't be overly worrisome about his travels. I can understand your fears though. My dad travels often and I get a little worried when he goes to a few of his "out of the way places" that he occasionally goes to.

so if an american acts shady to a foreigner they shouldn't trust anyone in the us?

some people do not have the luxury of choosing where they can and can't travel for work.

While all foreign travel carries a risk for Americans these days, Morroco is a fairly Westernized modern country. I remember in my high school days we had an exchange student from Morroco whose parents were journalists. Someone asked whether her father had more than one wife. Her reply was that Muslim law would allow him to do so but her mother would kill him first (or words to that effect).

There is no State Department warning specific to Morroco. Here is a link to the State Department Consular page for Morocco.

Simba'sMom, since you say your husband travels often, I'm sure he knows what to look for and will stay safe.

You judge an entire country of people based on one person? That's a little shortsighted, wouldn't you say?
