Hey there ! We are doing the Northern European cruise on the Magic in August, 2019. How rough are waters in the Baltic Sea?

We will be near the back of the boat on deck 7. For those who have been in this same area (on the Magic, specifically ) , how loud is the vibration/creaking during the cruise AND while docking?

Being that we’re in Europe , during August , are most students on Summer break ?

Thanks in advance !

I was amazed at how smooth the Baltic was during our cruise. I expected it to be choppy but we had nice weather, so it was smooth as glass. YMMV.

European school districts haven't released their 2018-2019 schedules yet, but traditionally they're on vacation in August.

What month did you travel ?

We sailed the Baltic in July of 2016. Very smooth seas. Our cabin was mid ship 6th deck. We only felt the sea a little bit one night at dinner.

Here’s a tip—book Palo for the evening you sail out of Stockholm. It was wonderful scenery out the big windows while enjoying a great dinner. That was one of our favorite memories of the trip.

We also did the Baltic cruise in July 2016. I agree the sea was extremely calm--maybe the smoothest of our 8 cruises. My daughter and I usually feel a little queasy at least once per cruise, but neither of us had any problem at all on this cruise.

We stayed on deck 2 aft on the Baltic cruise and sailed in the same stateroom on the Magic in March of this year. I don't recall any problems with vibrations during either cruise. There is definitely some noise/vibration when docking, but it doesn't last long.

The Northern Europe cruise was our favorite cruise. You're in for a real treat!

Good to hear and great advice about Palo . DH and I will be traveling with another couple and this is their first Disney Cruise ! We love Palo and the added scenery sounds like it’ll be a once in a lifetime experience.

I’m glad to hear the aft vibrations aren’t as bad as I’ve heard (at least on the other ships) . We’re so excited for this trip and thank you for the insight. It’s definitely helped some of my anxiety. We’ve talked up DCL to our friends and we hope that they end up loving it as much as we do!

Baltic was very slight, very good on our two Northern Europe cruises.
North Sea and Atlantic for Iceland can be very very rough.
