If I get my DH to play will he not speak to me for the rest of the cruise? :rotfl2:

You might want to talk to each other ahead of time and agree that you won't say anything that will embarrass the other person.

On one cruise we took one of the questions was "Where was the most unusual place the two of you "discovered the magic".

To this day I still laugh when I go to Home Depot and see the outdoor buildings in the parking lot- that's where one couple said was the most unusual :rotfl2:

It isn't the questions that are racy, it;s the answers. They had that question too on our cruise. Best answer was "in the bathroom in the hotel at WDW with the kids watching a movie on the TV in the room" :scared1:

We had one guy and his wife who had been married 50 years. The question was "If your wife sent you to the store for a loaf of bread, a gallon of milk, and a bra....what kind of bread, what type of milk and what size bra would you buy". Answer..."Wheat, skim....(and holding up his hands, palms facing the the audience) and 38D"

The above response is exactly right....it isn't the questions, it's the answers. The questions are even as simple as "Where did you go on your first date with your husband and who asked who." Trust me...even that question gets some interesting replies. "Pretend you are playing Survivor with your wife's family. Who do you vote off the island and why?" The "discover the magic" question is always good. We once saw a couple from England who thought the question was about the ship!

Where/When was the first time you have "Discovered the Magic" is a standard question every show. It never ceases to amaze (and entertain) me how much info people really give.

One time there was a couple on stage who obviously had way too much to drink and the things they were coming out with were priceless. The CM was actually embarassed to go on with more questions but he did and it was worth it!!

They were the hit of the cruise (though I don't think they knew why) for the rest of the week!!!

To the OP...your husband may never speak to you again but the other guests certainly will during the cruise!!!!

How does the game work? Does one person write the answer down and the spouse is supposed to give the same answer out loud?

After the couples are selected the Wives are taken to diversions and liquored up while the host talks to the guys. Then the ladies come back and get to answer the questions. Afterwards, the guys go over to Diversions, get liquored up and return to face the consequences.

Or the guys go to Diversions first.

This was a fun show. I laughed so hard at the answers the contestants were giving. It was a riot.

You are probably too young to remember....but us older folks remember the Newlywed Game on TV....exact same format as that show except they pick one newlywed couple, one couple married about 15 years or so and an older married couple who have been married about 35 years or more.

My DW and I were contestants on our last DCL cruise. The previous posters are correct... it's not the question that can get a little risque... it's the answers.

We were asked the famous "What's the most unusual place that you and your wife have discovered the magic". My DM and DS were in the audience. Imagine the looks on their faces when I said, "On the balcony of a cruise ship." The audience erupted in laughter :lmao: and the CM that was acting as the host took several minutes to compose himself. :scared1: BTW... it was NOT on a Disney ship!

There were several other humorous questions along with equally humorous answers.

The good news is that my DW and I answered all the questions the same and we won.

As for the OP question... It depends on your DH's sense of humor. As with all audience participation events, if you enter it with the thought that you will go with the flow and enjoy yourself, it will be great. If not, it could be a LONG cruise.

As a side benefit, you will become minor celebrities after an appearance. :cool2: People who saw your performance WILL comment as they see you throughout the cruise. Even CD Rachel made a comment to me the day after our startling answer.

We had a blast, but I also know it's not for everyone.

The balcony of the ship is a fairly standard answer. The best one I heard on the last cruise was the picnic table of the campground because the kids were in the tent!

My favorite answer from my last cruise:

The Rainforest Room of the Disney Magic. They won that night.

Winner of the competition got weeklong passes to the rainforest room.

were you on the Jan 3 St. Croix cruise (and had your camera swiped?) 'cause that old couple was a riot, as was the newlywed couple. BTW, I was one of the guys up front at the end of adult Magic Quest ...

After Magic Quest, I became friends with cruisestaff: Dave and DJ Mike. Would visit with them every night in Rockin Bar D and anywhere else onboard.

Mike told me about his favorite answer from a couple that had been married over 55 years - the guy said a hay loft, the lady a totally different answer, and Mike was trying to pull out the hay loft "incident" from the wife, when finnaly the guy said - "How would she know, she wasn't there!!"

so you never know what you are going to get

Do they replay the game on the televisions in the room? I seem to remember seeing replays throughout the cruise (but I could be thinking about a RCCL cruise).
