How reliable is OpenTable?

I made a lunch reservation for August for Frontera Cocina through OpenTable.com. I want to cancel my WP ADR I have already made before I forget, and get charged the no-show fee. But, I'm nervous that when I go to check in to Frontera, they won't "find" my reservation, or will tell me since it's not booked through ADR, they won't be able to help me. It's making me hesitant to cancel my WP ADR, so I can keep it as a backup. I've never used OpenTable before. Has anyone experienced any problems booking through them before?

I have never had any issue with open table and I use it on average 2/3 times a month.

One time my aunt had an issue (I think it was her fault but that's another story). The restaurant was apologetic and accommodated us anyway. She tried to make a reservation for 8, made it for 2, they still found us a table..... I would put money on her forgetting to make it for 8.

We've made reservations for Raglan Road through Open Table with no issues.

Does anyone know when this restaurant is actually opening? DH made an Open table res back at the end of May for July 6th. Now it's saying they will be taking reservations for July 21st and after, but our July 6th reservation is still showing.

Don't know about WDW specifically, but I use Open Table for virtually all restaurant reservations, never been a problem.

I don't know an exact date, but if you're worried, I do know they are extremely responsive on Facebook messenger. They answered all my questions very quickly.

OP, if you use the app, your profile page would show all your reservations. I think the website should have the same thing. They also send you a confirmation email so just in case there are any problems, that may help. :)

This is all great to hear! For *some* reason (if anyone knows why, I'd love to be enlightened), we cannot book Raglan Road through WDW for October 20th, yet there are tons of ressies available on Open Table so I went that route. There is tons of availability every other day during our stay, just not on the 20th. :confused3

I mentioned this to a CM when I called Disney Dining to make some notes on our ADR's, just a heads up that, hey, nobody can book anything all day on October 20th for Raglan Road and she (1) had never heard of Open Table, (2) insisted that they must have "bought up" all the reservations for that day (a random Thursday in October...?) and (3) then wanted my Open Table confirmation number for...some reason, LOL. I was like "Oh, that's OK, just wanted you to know!" :rolleyes1

Anyway, we have used Open Table a couple of times before but never to book so far in advance so it's good to hear that others have not had problems. We are looking forward to returning to Raglan on this trip!

The restaurant just posted on their instagram that they are opening next week! (Along with a super cute photo of Rick with Mickey) :lovestruc

Do they use the Disney IT shop?

If not, it's more reliable than Disney :)

I have never had an issue with Open Table, can't say the same for Disney!

It is my understanding that a lot of these restaurants (Disney Springs, Swan/Dolphin) that aren't managed by Disney and not in a park give the Disney reservation system a subset of their total availability. That can range from very small to a lot. (I know for the Swan/Dolphin it appears to be a small percentage!) I wonder if it's to keep down the amount of DDP diners they get?

Hmm, for me, that would not make sense since DDP diners can still book through OpenTable? I booked STK through OpenTable for December and will be on DDP. I booked bluezoo too for the part of my stay not on DDP. :) Still, you don't get charged the $10 no show fee and you can change your reservation on the same day, which Disney dining does not allow you to do. Much more convenient in my opinion.

Reserved Raglan Road through Open Table on our last trip and paid with DDP. No problems at all.
