Dh and I are making a trip over soon and trying to nail down our schedule before trying to make fastpasses.

Flight arrives at mco at 7:55 am. Staying at Beach Club, taking magic express.

Planning to have no bags to drop off at the hotel and assuming our room isn’t ready anyway that early, we will head straight to the parks. He wants AK first with a breakfast at Tusker House and safari, FOP and Everest fast passes. Is AK on the tiering system for them?

Trying to figure out what times to start the scheduled fun two months in advance is not fun! I love to plan but this morning has me puzzled!

Any thoughts would be great

I don't see how you could have breakfast at Tusker. Best case, you get to Beach Club at 9:30, 90 minutes after you land. Then plan on at least an hour to get to AK, so 10:30 at best. You'll need additional time to get into AK and walk to Tusker. If you are making a reservation, I wouldn't make one until at least 12:30 or 1pm. That gives you some cushion for delays. (You might make 11am, but to me, there's too much of a risk that you won't.)

We had one trip that ME took 2.5 hours after we landed. Yes, that it a worst case scenario, but it happens. We landed about 10 minutes early and got to our gate quickly. We could have had a delayed flight to go along with the accidents on the route from the airport to Disney.

The two Pandora rides are tier 1. Your FPs would be fine.

I'd make fast passes between 1pm and 5pm or so, and a then a dinner reservation. If you get there early, you can get lunch at quick service and hit a few rides/shows that don't need FP. If you are running late, you can always try to move the FP.

We just returned from a trip at the Beach Club. Our flight landed on time at 11:30 am and we made it to the Beach Club (via ME) at 1:11 pm. It took about 25 min for us to board ME and we were at the very front of the line since we had just missed the bus that was pulling out.

If you are taking a Disney bus to Animal Kingdom, they run every 20 min and the ride is about 15 min or so. We used Lyft for most of our trips around the world, so that saved us some time instead of Disney transportation.

I would make the TH ADR for 10:45 am and consider taking uber/lyft from BC to save some time if DME is running on the late side. I would start your FP+ around noon. Nav'i and FOP are tiered, but none of the other AK rides are.

I was wondering if maybe a 10:45-ish ressie could work. Didn’t think of uber/lyft. Good idea!

I guess worst case we run late and miss it and pay 10 bucks. It’s just the two of us and we can move pretty fast.

Hmm...it’s a total gamble but it would be awesome to jump straight into plans. Plus with a 3 am wake up we will be starving. I haven’t spent as much time at AK as I have the other parks so feeling a little crazy about this morning.

That's not the best case at all. Typical time from the gate to the resort is 70-90 minutes, with the occasional experience at an hour.

Getting to the park bus stop just as the bus arrives, 30 minutes. So they could be at AN as quickly as 9:45. Not likely, but a better best case scenario.

Accidents aren't typical, and 2.5 hours is extreme.

What sometimes works is calling within the cancellation period and moving the reservation to a different date.

I generally err on the side of assuming things will take longer than planned on a travel day. There's just too much out my control. If I assume that magic express will take at least 2 hours after we land, then I've also accounted for an abnormally long line, a flight delay, or other odd situation.

We are a party of four, so missing a dining reservation is a $40 hit. $20 isn't as bad, and your husband probably won't be as upset about missing the characters as my kids. ;) If it is a restaurant we really want to go to, I won't bother scheduling it on arrival day at all - that's how risk averse I am. I'll save it for later when I know we will have more control over our day.

Since you are staying at BC I would just do Epcot or DHS. We take early flights so know how tiring it can be and it would be better for you to wait for the next day so you would have the energy to devote all of the time you need at AK to be there all day and see the nighttime things. With the other parks near the resort you can walk and not have to wait for a bus plus there is not a lot at DHS and you could get it all in or can have extra time at Epcot.

That’s what my initial plan was and that’s what I get for asking him what he’d like to do right off. Lol

We have the dessert party at MK that night with emh so a nap will definitely be happening. I think Epcot first is best but it is his trip too and I control most of it so I thought I’d try to include his thoughts if he had any. Which he did. Lol

He literally wants breakfast at tusker house as soon as we get there. Sigh.

I'd book a town car or take a taxi straight to DAK.

Time is money on a vacation, and if you don't need to go to the resort, don't waste your time.

I've taken Tragical Express a few times. Many have been okay from the airport, but first time was a nightmare. We waited in line (going to BWV), for almost 2 hours. Yup. It was me and my kids alone, and I was about to go leave the stupid line and find a taxi, but I had no cash (wasn't sure about them taking credit cards). Most are okay; going back I'm not using them again. Last time going to the airport, we got onboard, then stopped at another resort. An HOUR later, we finally got going to the airport. My husband (and I) was furious.

I'd just take a taxi really, as it's like $50 or $60. In the scheme of things, it's worth it.

Not to worry you but we went to book our FOP FPs 60 days before our trip and it was already booked for the whole week. Luckily as we’re staying for 10 nights we managed to get it the following week. Be ready to book them the second it hits 60 days. Think it’s at 7am eastern time. I’m from the U.K. so please double check that
