How quick do you all plan another trip

We got home from a week long trip on May 28th and by June 2nd we had booked a weekend trip for July. Traditionally, we had gone every 1 or two years. However, seeing the peeks at carsland, seeing the walls around the Carthay come down, etc, got us too excited. I literally can't wait to see the new stuff. I am glad we bought the annual pass cause that makes it easier. Now I am selling stuff on eBay and amazon to offset the flight and hotel costs. Lol. I'm obsessed.

Leaving aside our first two one-day trips (which helped us find our inner Disney freakdom), since then, we haven't had a Disney trip that didn't involve buying an AP and taking another trip or four. Two years in a row for Disneyland, one year of two trips to WDW with an AP (after something like a YEAR off to make sure we had the money), and then APs again for DLR.

Jade, since you didn't get APs during this trip, I would highly recommend you consider adding that upgrade to your budget for this trip. It appears you're wanting to go more often, and you might as well accept it and maybe plan two trips at once, and make it an easier reality with an AP!

oh i would if i could but i cant afford the Ap's Not yet at least but thanks

lol I wouldn't think so, it seems to be what i did one car ride home and listening to my Halloween cd and i was planing on a quick two day trip lol well hubby made that a 4 days trip lol i cant wait.

Is the next day too soon? ;)

Why even wait that long! Plan the next one on the ride home from the park!:rotfl:

I am hoping to be planning one while on our trip in Sept but it will be a solo for me I think!

Well my kids 1st visit was 3/06, my mom went back to the DLR area for work that June so DS & I tagged along, he was 6 then. So those visits were 3 months apart.

We visited twice in '08 - April & December.

2009 was a great year *APs for DLR and a WDW visit* DLR ~ Mar, May, July, Sept, Dec and WDW in Oct!!

2010 - 4th of July weekend and Thanksgiving.

I'd love to go yearly from now on, so far that's how it's working out. Next year I'd love to go back to WDW *late Oct* if that happens probably no DLR but that'd be OK.

I'm always planning my next visit to DLR :dance3:

We got home 3 days ago and we have already decided on October 2013 for our boys' birthdays plus we hope to do the Halloween party. I would plan to go back this Halloween, but our recent trip involved saving for several months and tax return money from earlier this year, I don't think we could pull off this Halloween :) I sure wish, though!

I am just waiting for my husband to be more open to APs. We are an 8.5 hour drive away, but I think we could easily pull off 3 trips a year if we budgeted for it. I realized after this trip that 6 days of park hoppers is way more than needed, we'd be fine with 4, only because every one is pooped out by day 5 and we barely get anything done and the kids want to be piggy back carried so much more.

Normally, I start planning our next trip on our drive home from the current trip. However, this year we have APs (probably the last time for awhile) so I've been planning them before our current trips! We went in Feb, just got back Tuesday, will go again in Oct and again in Nov. We have a kids' suite booked at the Hojo for the first week of January and I told DH that I would cancel it when he agreed to the Nov. trip, but I haven't yet....I think I may try to talk him into "one last trip".

Soo when I posted this yesterday I mentioned it to a friend... and now I am planning 2 trips at the same time.... do you think that is to soon?? LMAO

We plan our trips (family of 4-5 depending on whether in-laws are going) 1-2 days in advance usually so I don't think there's such a thing as "too soon" :) Lately we've been down there 1-3 times a month although we'll probably take a short break after Carsland opens. We do have APs but live in the SF Bay so about the same driving time as you, assuming you're in PHX.

yep in phx when dad drives us were there in less then 6hours or so but on buss it could be 6-8hours but at least bus had bathroom on it and we stop at the mc ds in Bryth (we did that last time we went on bus) and we do most bus ride at night (12midnight or so) and then sleep on way there, we will get to disney about 8am or so we wont make it to rope drop but wed be only 30mins or so behind) if all works out Oct 1st we will be having a good time by 10am at the latest

This is so funny!!! :lmao: DH and I have been talking about all the "trip planning" we have going on ...... (see ticker)...... we are going to Panama City Beach, FL for summer vacation this year (DD won a trip!) in July, then we go to WDW with my brother and family for a long Labor Day weekend trip (first "family" trip ever) and we have a cruise booked for Spring Break next year (our first cruise ever) :cool1:

NOW ..... I've popped over to this section of the boards because we are discussing taking our first ever DL trip next July!!! :rotfl: Did you count them? That's a total of 4 trips in planning phase at once! I know one of them isn't a "Disney" vacation, but it's still a big trip (we will be taking a total of 5 teenagers to the beach for a week! :scared:)

There is NO SUCH THING as planning too many Disney trips!!! ;)

We are also about an 8 hr drive from WDW, so we've gone as many as 4-5 times a year ....... :upsidedow

When we went for our honeymoon in 2003, we got home and immediate started planning the next. The same thing happened when we took our first son on his first trip. But then, we had a span where we didn't... instead we bought DVC, lol. That began with a WDW trip and cruise in 2010.

Since then, it has been multiple trips at once. In November '11 we went, having May '12 and October '12 on our schedules already. By the time May '12 came along, we already had added the NEXT May. And now, we have added a tentative November of '14 for Disney World. We were fortunate to be able to do this huge grouping and tried to get a lot of it before public (1st grade) school begins for our family. Now we will be at the mercy of school schedules!
