How Quick Can U Plan?

Just a quick question on how quick have some of you planned a trip to WDW? Minutes, Hours, Days, Weeks, Months?

in 2002 we planned a WDW trip in 22hrs when the original vacation was cancelled

In my mind, I am always planning. Whether I have a trip scheduled or not. So, If someone told me to plan a trip for Aug (we are going in July), I could have it done by tonight. I would just do all the things I won't have time for on this trip!

A few years back,around 2000, my mom said WDW. I called got a room and our flights in 1-1.5 hours. Of course mom was paying so money wasn't a prob.Pitiful huh? I was probably about 42 at the time.LOL

3 days was my fastest plan, it was our first time and we didn't know any better!

20 days in 2003. my mom mentioned WDW briefly, and the second i heard that i pestered her. And low and behold she got a great deal and my parents, my brother and I had a fab 6 night/7day stay just a couple of weeks later. and this was in JULY. so thats pretty good for reg season i think.

I was at work one night (overnight shift at the hospital) the patients were all sleeping, and the nurses taking a load off for a bit. I mentioned that I sure would like to go somewhere on my next two days off. My boss, said go to disney. I told her I would need at least three days to do that and I had to work on that third day. She said "SO?" "We can fix that", so she took me off the schedule, I called my hubby, (it was 5am) and he pricelined a room. We were in the car by 9 am. (i got off at 7am)

Just booked today, leaving Saturday. Total about 2 hours including gettng my flight on points, POP booked, and research to DDE. Oh, and getting time off ok'ed!!!

The 2 hours included some browsing on the boards too!

In 2002 we had 22hrs from our "change in plans" to when we left for the airplane!

My then-18 year old niece called me around noon on a Sunday to ask for driving directions to where her parents and younger brothers & sisters were staying at WDW. She had been invited to go along but said no. Then, after the family left home, my niece missed them terribly and was regretting her decision. So she and her BF at the time hopped in his old car (this worried me, but you know kids) and drove all night and ended up surprising her parents at 6:00 the next morning. Gotta love spontanaety!

In 2002 I had as much snow as I could take and in 3 days was on my way to WDW.

I have called go t a room and left home within the hour. Made PS and the rest of our plans in our 2.5hr drive there. We do this quite often, but of course don't always get what we want. We also have AP to wild adventures and Busch Gardens so we keep a suitcase packed with all the essentials except for clothes for our spur of the moment trips.

Shortest time on record is 3 days, but I could do it in 10 minutes if given the chance!

In 2003 my dh called from Iraq to tell me that he was coming home on R&R and wanted to go back to disney world to try our honeymoon again. He called 3 days before he was supposed to come home but his plane was delayed a day so we can say 4 days. In that time, I had to wrap up everything on my desk at work plus some ahead because I was taking the full 2 weeks off and I also had to get the resort and plane tixs and our stuff packed. My poor husband flew over 30 hours to get home and was home just about 16 hours when he had to get on another plane for disney but wasn't complaining.

Few years back, my friends and I decided on Friday to drive down Saturday morning for a holiday weekend (lived near Savannah). We actually called that Saturday morning and got a room in DTD - all we could find.

We did this a couple times since each of us had APs, no kids and not a lot of sense. But it was always fun!! After you've been enough times, you just head down there with the idea of doing your favorite rides and taking it as it goes. It's one of the best ways to vacation there, I think!

Jan 05 I had a hankering to fly down for MLK, planned, packed and out the door in just a few hours.

Today I decided to try to rent DVC points for the 1st time for my last minute trip this weekend- posted, emailed, confirmed, and booked in under an hour!!!

Gotta love the DisBoards for that type of help!!
