How prevalent is this at OKW ?

From an OKW fairway view room, have you observed golfers acting less that magically?

  • I've never seen that

  • I've seen that before, but rarely

  • I see that a couple of times each visit

  • I see that often

  • It’s a superfund waste site, and I wouldn’t play golf there without as hazmat suit.

We have stayed at OKW 3 separate visits now. First on rented points, then on cash now on our own points. Each time we’ve had a view overlooking a fairway. While 99.8 percent of the time we find that wonderful, one peculiar re-occurring event has become unavoidable to not take notice of. It seems impossible for us to not observe during each visit 1-3 golfers (males) reliving themselves on the edge of the woods. Some will have the relative good taste to actually walk into the wood 10+ feet or so, so as not to be so ‘observable’. While others, seemingly don’t step off the paved cart way.

The cartway/woods do not appear to be more than 100 yards away from the buildings and clearly (to the players & the building occupants) within full view of the balconies. I am not a golfer, and this is not a *who hates/loves who* thread, but I was wondering if we’ve just been “lucky” or if others have shared this particular experience?

what's been your experience???

I've never seen that, but I would shout something nice and loud to embarass them and you can bet that they probably wouldn't do it again....or at least would think twice about it.

It is not uncommon it happens on golf courses all over the place not just @ Disney. I know I do it while out on the course hey when you have to go you have to go and finding a bathroom or even johnny on the spot on a golf course it few and far between on most courses LOL.

Never saw that in 25+ visits to OKW...of course, we haven't had a golf view every time.

I'm sorry, but that's just disgusting! Do you have kids? Don't you have them "go" before leaving and getting involved in anything? Can't you "go" before you tee off? Less beverages while golfing would also help.

Yes I have kids and I do go before we tee off but hey 18 holes on some courses is a long distance and they rarely ever put a port a poty out there for golfers to use so you go when and where you can. Kinda like having to go while you are driving down the highway if there is no service centre you go in the ditch. Well for the guys anyhow and some women do it also and yes I have witnessed this.

This seems to be the key. For some, golfing is probably a great excuse to drink a lot of beer. Now you've got me thinking....I wonder where DH and DBIL's "go" when they're playing golf. YUCK. Innocence is bliss.

Well, I just hope for your sake you never rub up against poison ivy! :earseek:

Well I have been lucky so far LOL mind you I am not to sure about going near any water at WDW especially with the little critters patrolling the wet areas on the courses. I am allergic to alligator bites LOL I save it for wooded areas some people will go anyplace but I avoid the water even if the ball goes close to the edge I will usually just leave it and get a new one out. Also I don't drink beer while I am golfing the game is hard enough sober I don't need to add anything else to make it harder LOL.

Every male I know that golfs, pees in the woods. I even have a GF that does. DH says they all do it and most go in deep so they can do so without being noticed. He ahs only golfed once at WDW. I'll have to ask him if he went in the woods at OKW.

How disgusting! I hope I never see this.
I think going before playing golf makes the most sense(obvious).
Not very classy.

This one really made me laugh!!!! DH does this all the time when we golf. I, of course, have to wait to find a bathroom. When playing at a new course, I ALWAYS inquire as to the locations.

I'm asking DH tonight if he's done this and if there are pottys along the way.

I think it's ee-eeeew, but I also think that spitting on the golf course and greens are gross too.

Not meaning to be sexist, but just an observation but this is usually men doing both!

Ever see the woods on fire around a golf course ????

Didn't think so.

Next time you see a male golfer, thank him for a job well done. Just don't shake his hand.

I am glad to say I have never seen it nor have I heard anyone say that they have. However, with the amount of beer consumed out on the course I'm certain it has happened. Especially considering the OTHER things I know people have done in public areas around WDW!

LOL!! Good one KNWViking!!! Now we know what really goes on at the golf course, glad to know that as long as KNWViking is around, the golf course will be safe from fires.
