My planning session is in three weeks (woo hoo :yay: ), but I don't feel prepared at all!! I have a bunch of pictures of flowers, cakes, centerpieces, etc ready to show my planner...but don't have any of those pictures that I can show him and say "this is exactly what I want"...I like all the pictures I have, but I feel like I don't know what I want, so how is he going to know??

How prepared were you going into your planning session?? Did you know exactly what you wanted??

Thanks for any advice!

Steph

I'm kinda in the same boat as you. Not exactly sure what I want. But--the WP's are there for a reason, so hopefully when you go they will have some great tips and ideas to make the decisions a bit easier.

I don't write on here often, but I did want to say that I wasn't prepared AT ALL for my planning session. Literally I didnt have many things picked out except, my colors, my dress, and my bridesmaid dresses.
But it didn't really matter. Your WC does it all the time and gives you so many options. Options you dont even know you had.
At least that is my experience. I had a great time, they are very helpful.
So my advice is, dont worry... you can make any changes up until your wedding.
Good Luck

I pretty much had everything figured out. I brought examples of what I wanted and swatches of the different dresses and colors. Our planning session probably lasted 4 hours or so. The things I had no ideas about were the flowers. I don't know much about flowers so I really depended on Laura Kidd and she definately delivered. Go through the wishbook and get a definate idea about what you want.

I am an obsessive planner!! hehe i feel it helped calm my nerves about this planning session. i hope some of my ideas help

i brought three identical packets one for the floral designer-laura one for michlle and one for me.

*I had picture and swatch of my dress, my moms dress and the girls dresses
*i had mens tuxes picture
*I brought Lots of floral pictures with notes naming what flowers i like and Did not like ( i feel this was important becouse they may assume that you will like it if you dont say otherwise)
*I had color swatches from the paint store to show the hues i likes
*Invitation sample
*hair styles
*Centerpiece ideas
*pics from magazines that showed general theme i wanted
*Cake pictures (they made my cake a combo of them)
*Sample of the type of ornament i wanted in the bouquest
*Gifts
*i had my music picked
*know what vendors you are using
*what hotel you are staying at

My best tip if to remeber that this is there job and eventhough i had all of that they are the ones who pulled it all together. you are in good hands

*i would definatly bring copies of the pics becouse they liek to keep them

good luck let me know if you have any questions
the sessionm was such a woulderful experience i love talking about it

It sounds like you should be good to go if you have pictures and ideas of what you want. I had made up some slides beforehand with pics of flowers, cakes, my dress, etc. Unfortunately I forgot them!! I was so upset...but I sent them to my planner and Rose when I returned. I did bring my wedding planner binder which helped...it had all my notes in it. So I'd say as long as you have ideas of what you want....they'll be sure to figure out the perfect day for you!

Thanks for your responses! I feel better now...haha...I'm definitely going to use that list when preparing for the trip! Thanks!
