How possible is it to trade for Harborside Resort Atlantis as a DVC owner??

Don't quote me on this, but I thought I read on one of these posts earlier this year that Atlantis is no longer allowing exchanges or swaps with DVC or with the other II resorts.

Atlantis the hotel is no longer on the CC list, Harbourside the timeshare in on the II list. Westin owners have first crack it those units, I'm told they are held for other Westin owners for 3 days and only those that are left are released to II in general.

It has been done but not very often. All the ones that are DVC exchanges that I recall were off season and 1 BR units and I only recall 3 or 4 DVC exchanges since it came back on the list. The best option would likely be a direct exchange with a Westin member.

Harborside Resort is the most requested resort in II, or so I hear. It is also one of the most difficult trades to make. You can forget about trying for Spring break and for summer weeks. If you are able to get an exchange, it will be very unlikely to be a 2 or 3 bedroom.

Very hard trade.....I called MS a few months ago asking about how to trade out....I specifically asked about Harborside....CM said...well I can tell you that property has no availablity for 2yrs.

Like Dean... I've known of a couple people who spotted online availability of 1BRs early, early one morning and grabbed them, then arranged their vacation schedules around them. But that was very odd. Haven't heard of them turning up with an ongoing search. Haven't heard of anyone getting into Harbourside Atlantis with DVC for years now.

But that was very odd. Haven't heard of them turning up with an ongoing search. Haven't heard of anyone getting into Harbourside Atlantis with DVC for years now.

I'm a lowly voluntary non SVN Starwood owner and I've never seen one online, but then again I'm not on II early, early, early in the morning.

I know Harborside and the Westin St. John are the Holy Grails of Interval International.

You can only request a given trade 2 years out from check in date but I don't think that resort deposits that early. I believe it's only likely to be available at 1 year out or less subject to availability of course.

Starwood typically does't deposit until about one year out for thier resorts, if they do at all.

Given the degree of difficulty of exchanging into Harborside at Atantis, we bought at Harborside to guarantee our trips.

In addition to DVC we also own in Starwood Vacation Ownership. Our home resort is The Westin St. John and it is hard for us to trade internally into the Harborside!
