My hoop skirt for my dress just came in and I forgot just how poofy my dress is !!! :scared1:
Did/Do you have a really poofy dress? And if you did/do, any problems or concerns with it at SBP or your reception location?

Ours is a pretty small wedding so now I'm having second thought... altho it's a bit too late for that... hehe

Mine wasn't crazy poofy or anything, but it was pretty big. We only had me, husband and our daughter at the wedding. My train was pretty long, and it got stepped on quite a bit, but I still loved having the long train and fun dress!

mine was super poofy and i had my wedding at sbp. the only problem that i ran into was the aisle was too small, but i think this was for a few reasons
1. i had both of my parents walk me down the aisle
2. sbp was PACKED for my wedding, there were 70+ people in there...so we were packed in like sardines!

Mine had some good poof going on! And there were no issues at all at SBP. My dress was made up of layers and layers of very fine silk tulle which blew in the wind a bit, but it was pretty not a bother. :)

oh phew...
OK... I feel a little better now.
Thanks everyone!

Mine's pretty poofy with a longish train too... but we'll only have 30 people in the wedding. So hopefully aisle width is not going to be a problem...

Thanks gals! :)

I've done Civil War reenacting, and if the hoops you got are the same type as the ones I have, there should be an overlap of the metal in the channels that isn't attached to itself. (Mine had a small opening where they had fed the metal in...if yours doesn't, you can slice a small slit in it)

So essentially, you should be able to make the circles smaller if you think you need to! Just moosh the metal over itself some more. Remember to staple/duct tape the metal in place though, so it doesn't pop back out on you!

HTH!!

:cutie:

Mine is um...rather huge. My biggest concern is not having a wide enough aisle as I'm having both my parents walk me down. I have stressed...and stressed again...to my planner that the aisle is going to need to be ginormous!!

How many days in your life do you get to wear a big huge dress?!?!?

Oh, and did I mention that our ceremony is on a beach. Everyone keeps telling me that Disney should be giving me a discount for sweeping the beach, then I tell them that they'll probably charge me more for dropping the sand in ADH!

Dress should be in this week...can't wait!

Mine was not overly poofy, but if you bustle, make sure you have them do ties and not snaps or eyes. My bustle broke after people were stepping on my dress. Basically, due to my location, I could not have my dress trail after me. I had to have it bustled to make it up the stairs at the UK Pavilion.

here's the pic of my dad almost falling on the way into sbp...

if you're only having 30ish people you should be fine! like i said, both of my parents walked me down the aisle and there were a TON of people in there, it was PACKED!!!

LOL!!!
Your poor dad... that picture is so cute...
I think my dress might be a little poofier than yours but I'll be walking down the aisle myself... hehehe... so that'll help :)

Thanks for the idea!
I am going to get my dress bustled this weekend.
I'll have to remember that.

poufy, poufy, poufy!

Be sure that you do NOT get suckered into a "sweep train" bustle. My seamstress wouldn't let me bustle it all the way up (it's more "romantic") and it got stepped on and pulled out...

Bustle it ALL THE WAY UP!

LOL

I didn't get married at SBP, but I had a huge organza ballgown skirt with 3 hoop crinnie underneath. Poof-tastic!

:lmao: :rotfl: pooftastic!!! I love it!!!

Yeah... that's what I have...3 hoop crinnie... let's see how that goes at SBP... :dance3:

Mine is a poofy as a poofy thing. I've got a Scarlett O'Hara crinny with layers of net and a few hoops to boot - just to make sure. This is my dress without my crinnie and, unfortunately, without the 'natural hoops' around my hips!

I'm either going to have the train removed or have it bustled - not sure which yet.

work that poof, girl! :rotfl:

Definitely... let's see how much room I have to work it... :lmao:

Oh one more question... how do you sit with the 3 hoop crinnie...? I haven't tried sitting on it yet... :rotfl:

Beautiful dress... ok, so the consensus is there are tons of poofy dressed brides out there and I don't have to feel weird about it ... :cloud9:
I feel much much better...

Sitting is incredibly easy. Lift the hoop closest to your butt up a little bit, then sit on the hoop. It will actually flatten the front of your dress down, so you don't get a face full of dress...

:rotfl: :lmao: :happytv: My belly hurt!!!! ... oh man thanks for the visual and giving me a good laugh that my DF had to ask "what happened?":rotfl: :lmao:
