How overwhelming is the current state of construction?

Also outside the parks, for those that drive to Disney or spend time outside the bubble there will be some major construction on I-4 for the next couple years...

we were just there this past week and AK was overwhelming at the construction. I was surprised....for me it took away from the park.

The walls at AK were a huge disappointment for us in December as well. We were also "full day at AK" people, but this last trip, we didn't spend much time there. It really did feel like being in a maze. I'm generally not a wall Debbie Downer and I wasn't bothered by the walls at MK, but at AK...ugh. I really feel like they should have just closed the park completely for a few months and worked on it 24/7 to get the non-Avatarland stuff done more quickly than being open to guests in the shape it is now. It would be OK if it was just the former Camp Minnie-Mickey area that was closed off, but there are just walls everywhere right now.

This may help me with allotting our time! We will be there in April with a 6-day pass. We enjoy AK but it's not our favorite park, and I was starting to consider whether or not to allot 2 days each to MK, HS and Epcot and just skip AK this time. Going to look at some of the photos but this sounds like a tipping point to lean me toward skipping it.
