DH and I would love to cruise in the future but I am hesitant about taking my DS on a cruise as a toddler. I don't really want to place him in the babysitting areas but I was concerned about what DH and I would be able to do with him in tow.

I would really like for the cruise to be a family vacation but is there a lot for a family with a 2-3 year old to do? Has anyone had any experience with this?

We do hope to go on the 7-day for our 10th anniversary and that trip will be just the 2 of us if we can make it work. ;)

Well back in 1998, I took my then 3 and 2 year old on DCL. We enjoyed ourselves very much, the 3 year old was able to go into the Club, but my 2 yr old DD had to be with at all times. While we did not have a "bad" time because of this, we could have had a much more enjoyable time if we had felt like we had gotten some "vacation" time away from the kids. THis was back before Flounders. We had a great time on our trip, and we are booked on our 2 nd DCL cruise for 10/25/03. That being said, I am having a 4th child in May of this year, and he will be staying at home in Oct. I just feel we will all have more of a good time without having to keep up with a baby. All my kids, ages 8,7 and 4 will be able to stay in the clubs, and my DH and I can enjoy more adult activites. BTW, my 2 eldest that have been before do not remember it at ALL. Only when I show them pictures, oh yeah, I kinda remember that, is what they say!

We have cruised three times on DCL with our children. They have ranged in age from 6 months to 7 years old. We love vacations, and especially love DCL. We have never used Flounders. At two years old, you can take them into the Oceaneer's club and play with them there - you just can't leave them. My DH just liked to push the stroller around the promenade and relax. DH travels alot, so we relish all the time we can spend together. It all depends on what you want - you won't get time away from your toddler, but there are plenty of things you all can do together. Like WDW, DCL is very kid friendly!

As for your toddler not remembering the trip, he won't remember anything anyway. The memories at this point in your lives are for YOU!
