How old were you when you had your first Body Piercing?

I got my ears pierced when I was 9. I was very much a tomboy and every time we would go to the mall, my mother would ask if I wanted to get my ears pierced. Every time I would say no. I don't know if I got sick of hearing her ask, but one day I said okay. I still remember how stunned she was that I finally agreed to have it done. I very rarely wear earrings now anyway so it really wasn't worth all the effort.

then 19 or so for the 2nd holes in my ears, they never felt right...hardly ever use them, but they have never closed all the way & I'm 43 now

I accidentally had a fishhook go through my eyebrow when I was a kid. Other than that I have no piercings.

Second set - age 10
Third, fourth, fifth, sixth (ha!) - age 18
Cartilage - age 16
Belly button - age 17

I still have three holes in each ear, but I only wear the first hole. I got bored of the others pretty fast and let them close. I removed my belly button ring was I was 19. It never healed correctly, and was pretty.. gross. I won't get into it lest someone happen to be eating while reading this thread.

Now, I much prefer tattoos. I've got 6 and there are definitely going to be more. Piercing just isn't my thing.

6 for the first set of holes in my ears. I was about 12 when I got a second set on my ears and I was 25 when I got my belly button done.

I had my ears pierced at 8 months old, 2nd holes in ears at 14, my belly button at 17 and my tongue at 18. I took out my belly button and tongue piercings when I was pregnant with DD, 9 years ago and I hardly ever wear earings anymore. DD had her ears pierced at 6 months old.

When I was 17 my friend wanted her nose pierced and I wanted my eyebrow done. We knew they wouldn't check ID in Venice so we drove down and found a piercing parlor.

We went in and she got her nose pierced. When I told the man I wanted my eyebrow done he said "No" So I asked why, he then said "I'll pierce your ears, your nose, your nipples and your booty , but not your eyebrow, that leaves a scar!"

So we left and I didn't have anything done. We eventually found out what the last thing was, didn't sound fun at all!

To this day we joke about his line whenever the topic of piercing is brought up, we crack each other up.

I never got any piercings after that and let the cartilage close up. I wear earrings all the time, the danglier and sparklier the better.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but alot of people don't have a cute belly after having a kid with or without a piercing. Seriously, my un-cute belly after 3 kids had nothing to do with my piercing, which I kept in through all 3. It's the daggum stretched skin (not even stretch marks really) that makes it not cute!! My belly button still looks great!!

Oh don't worry, I fully understand the consequences of my stomach after being pregnant! I am talking about while pregnant...Its going to look like a watermellon with a unibrow! I have seen someone's belly who had a piercing taken out and its not as cute as no peircing at all.

I was 12 when I had my ears pierced- I had been bugging my mom to have them done since I was 4. My pediatrician had twin girls and they had their ears pierced at birth (he was from the Phillipenes, and this was in 1970 in the Midwest- pierced ears on babies were a real novelty). When I saw those babies with earrings, I was just obsessed! My mom told me I had to wait until I was 12, so on my 12th b'day, we went to the mall and had them done.

I did my own second hole in my right ear at around 15 or so. It is still there, but I never wear an earring in it anymore.

DD got her ears pierced in May- she was 8 1/2.
