How Old Were You When You Got Married?

We were both 18, but don't tell DD9. We are still married after 25 years and two kids (DS20 and DD) and are the happiest couple we know so although I shake my head when I think about it now that I have kids- it was a good idea. The part that we really don't talk about in front of DD is that we met, fell madly in love, and married in four months. I realize now why people were shaking their heads and thinking that I must be pregnant. We joke that it was a 5 year pregnancy.

I was 18 and DH was 20. Everyone thought that we would be having an addition within the first year, but it was 6 years later before our oldest made her appearance. We wanted to have time with each other before starting a family. Boy, are we ever glad we waited! We are going to Charleston next week without the kids for the first time in 11 years! We are celebrating our 21st anniversary on August 4th. We were married on 8-4-84!

18 the 1st time ... I thought it would last forever , he and his girlfriend thought different LOL ( I can laugh now) but those were the best 13 yrs of my life nad the worst .

I was 25, DH was 28. It is 7 years later and we are still happily married and blissfully child-free!

It is ironic. We had attended 6 other weddings of our peers, the same year we were married. All of them had 1-3 children right away. We are the only ones still married, and the rest of our friends are debating custody, child support, allimony, etc.
