drank alcohol (beer, or what ever) ?

I was 14, didn't grow up around drink so it never occurred to me to drink, but I was over at a buddy's house and he had a 6 pack we drank

Fifteen, unless my brother's reading this. Then my answer would be "35 minutes shy of my eighteenth birthday". That was my first official bar drink, though :)

17 (1977) but the drinking age was 18 (beer and wine) so it was only about 6 months before I was legal anyway.

8..it was wine and easter. I was living in greece and fell asleep under a tree.

I was in 7th grade. My parents were out for the night and I had a friend sleeping over. We choked down a shot of orange flavored vodka and chased it with 2 16oz cans of Black Label beer:lmao: She was so drunk she stumbled on the way to the bathroom and skinned her forehead on the wall of the hallway:rotfl: Looked like a big hickie the next morning:rotfl: Awwww, good times

18 1/2. Legal was 18. It was at a party with my co-workers. I'm sure they got a kick out of me drinking Canadian Mist and Coke. I still like it but rarely ever drink it.

I was 17, back when the drinking age was 18. I got falling-down puking drunk on home made "dandylion wine". On the way back to the hotel, my friends had to pull over so I could throw my guts up in a corn field. This was on a school trip to upstate NY.

16-17, but the legal age for beer was 18.:)

According to my mom I snuck a drink of my dad's beer when I was two, she says my facial expression was pretty funny.:rolleyes1

6 :rotfl:. My parents had a party and served whiskey sours. They looked like Shirley Temple which was my drink of choice at that age ;). I took a gulp from a glass left in the kitchen. It wasn't too bad tasting. No one ever knew until years later.

I was always allowed a glass of wine with Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner, at least as far back as I can remember. Maybe age 7 or 8?

My wife and I did the same with our kids. Maybe that's why now that they are adults they really don't have a huge interest in alcohol, other than a Strawberry Margarita a couple times a year.

Oh yeah...fishing with my dad, I'd beg for a sip of beer and squeal when I tasted it. :goodvibes

First real time tasting alcohol was about age 12. My dad kept a nicely stocked bar and had all kinds of glasses I'd never been allowed to drink out of, sooooo...one summer my friends and I decided it was high time to become familiar with everything and we mixed all kinds of liquor and whiskey with Dr. Pepper and Mountain Dew. Ewwww...nasty! He's recently passed away and his bar is still well stocked and much of the beautiful glassware is still there. But these days I don't find the stuff nasty at all. :woohoo:

Someone always says that. Our boys didn't drink until they were legal, yet they rarely drink now as adults. And before someone says they did, they didn't. They're 25 and 27 now and we've always been very open with each other. They just didn't get the stupid drunk idiots they went to school with. Some of them, allowed to drink at home, under age. So, nice try.

Most of the kids I knew who were hard partiers all through HS and college had parents who allowed them to drink while under age.

Little sips here and there of my parent's drinks (with their permission)...throughout my childhood. I couldn't even tell you what age I first tried...but I didn't really like the taste, so it was infrequent, maybe once every other year, just to see if I felt any different about it this time!:)

When I was 16 I took a trip to Europe as part of a tour and my mom pretty much harrassed me into getting a drink  since it was legal. She literally shoved money into my hand as I was going out with some of the other teens in our group and told me "get a glass of wine! Get a glass of wine". Well, I already knew from the little sips earlier in my childhood that I didn't care for wine...one of the guys in the group (about my age, but obviously a more experienced drinker ;) ) suggested I get a mixed drink instead, since a lot of those don't really taste like alcohol. I told him I like mint flavored stuff and he suggested a grasshopper. :rotfl: Nope, I didn't like that either!

My first time drinking a full glass of wine was when I was about 20 and in college. By then I guess my palette had matured. :)

My parents used to let us have about a half a glass of wine with holiday dinners. The Thanksgiving I was 12, my parents were arguing about something at the table. At this point, we knew they were splitting up, my mom was just waiting until she found an apartment she could afford before she moved out. While they argued, I finished my wine...and then I poured another glass, and then I think another. They didn't notice. I remember getting up from the table and feeling kind of dizzy and then just laying on the sofa watching TV, feeling weird.

After that, I didn't drink again (even a half glass of wine at special dinners no longer appealed to me after that) until I was 17, at a party with my friends, at which time wine coolers became my drink of choice. A couple times I drank to the point of being really drunk, but quickly decided I didn't like how that felt. I drank fairly regularly from then on, at least during the summers when I was with my friends. Now, I rarely drink....a couple times a year maybe, and never to get drunk.

Mom and Dad always let us have a tiny spot of wine or beer whenever they had any (probably once every couple of months) from the time I can remember. I loved "cold duck", which was sparkling pink wine.

The first time I drank enough to get drunk? The weekend I turned 16. My parents let me spend my birthday weekend with my brother at his college dorm- I don't know what they were thinking!! He promised he wouldn't let me get in any trouble- yeah, right! The minute he picked me up from the Greyhound station, he was out to corrupt me. He got me a date with a guy on his hall (he was an RA at a freshman boys' dorm) and took us to a Winter Luau party where he gave me mixed drinks.

The next night, he got me into a bar (drinking age was 19 back then, but I definitely did NOT look of age) and we played "Quarters". I drank the better part of a pitcher of sangria and later vomited spectacularly all the way back to the dorm. To this day, almost 30 years later, I still can't even look at a glass of red wine without gagging a little.

The first time I tried a drink...was probably 7. Dad left his beer on the patio and I wanted to know what the fuss was about...I can remember...I thought it tasted like crap!:drinking1

As a child, I was allowed a very little bit of wine, now and then, but really was never very interested in alcohol. When I was 18, I was legal in the state at that time, so I went to a bar with some friends and ordered a screwdriver, 'cause I had no idea what to order :rotfl:. Come to find out, I rather like liquor....
