How Old Were You When You First Met Your Spouse/Partner?

We met at 17- beginning of our senior year in hs. Took an immediate dislike to each other!! Boy I thought he was a jerk, and he thought I was so... picky. Ended up being senior prom dates because our best friends were dating each other... and the rest, they say, was history. We married at 22 after dating for 4 years and graduating from different colleges. We've been married 16 years now!

I was 21 turning 22 and Dh was 25 turning 26 (both are b-days are in Feb). Been married 7 weeks!

I was 18 and DH was 20 (by 3 days). That was 18 years ago.... And like another poster said...about a month and half later he said, "You know I'm going to marry you!" Which we did 4.5 years later...after college!

actually he asked me out a week after we met (we were both just turned 19)...
i couldn't go out because of an exam, so we went out a few weeks later...
on that date, which was our first date, he told me he was going to marry me...
i finally said "yes" 4 years later and we married when we were halfway through grad school....
our 30th anniversary was this year (we're both 53)...
and oddly, i'm also originally from Michigan (DH is from DC originally)...

I was 15 and DH was 13. He passed away in July at age 55 after 34 years of marriage. My heart is broken

i am so sorry for your loss....that must be so very difficult....

I was 25 and he was 39 and we met in a bar in September 1990. I lived a sheltered life and it was only my third time in a bar and he was there to hit on another girl. The girl didn't pay him any attention and I was totally bored since my idiotic friend I was with was hitting on some guy. So he & I started talking and realized we had a lot in common. He asked me to dance (to "Unchained Melody") and told me a few months later that as we were dancing he knew we were going to get married.

Two months later he proposed and and in April 1991 (and still are).

Yep, DH and I met at 17, freshman year of college. Part of a big group that hung around and debated all the "big issues" of life (or so we thought). He and I would disagree about almost everything and fight about it. But he made me laugh the whole time. Anyone who can make me laugh while we're "fighting," I thought, must be the guy for me.

21 years later (15 married) and still cracking each other up every day. (we do agree on most things now...)

Married at 23 &24, we're now both 40 and still in love. (most days anyway!)

We are still best friends. I can't even imagine not having him with me, by my side. I don't even like going grocery shopping without him. lol

I met my DH the first day of our freshman year of college (I was 17, he was 18). We were friends and finally started dating halfway through our sophomore year. We got married a year after we graduated, so 5 years after we met and about 3.5 years after we started dating.
