How old is too old for the Pirate Cruise?

I will be down at WDW this July and was wondering how old is too old for the Pirate Cruise. I’m bringing down my niece and 2 nephews. The two younger ones are 5 and I think would enjoy it, but the oldest will be 9 when we are down there and I’m not sure if he would be bored on this adventure. I know that the age range goes up to 10 but I don't want him to be put on a boat with a handful of 5 or 6 year olds.

Any ideas!!

I'd probably just describe the cruise to him, warn him that he might be the oldest and let him decide.

My middle grandchild (boy) did the PC in August 2002 ... he was 7. We're going back this summer and both my grandaughter (7) and older grandson (10 in July) are looking forward to doing the cruise. I'm not sure if Wm will want to do it again or not ... he enjoyed it, but I think once was enough.

Our three kids did the Pirate Cruise on our last trip (10/2003). We have a 9y/o and 4 y/o son and a 7 y/o daughter. They pair you up with another child before you board the boat. My daughter quickly found a partner, and my two sons paired up. Most of the kids were about 7 years old, and there were other kids who looked 9-10. My older son helped his younger brother, and had a BLAST ! He enjoyed the whole boat ride, wearing of the life vest, and treasure hunting experience. We knew he would like it, but knowing that he's one of those kids that steers clear of anything 'not cool', we were pleasantly suprised (and thrilled) with how much he enjoyed himself. You're only young once, and I would highly recommend it!

My kids will be doing this in 2 weeks. My ds in almost 9 and dd is 5. I figured it'll be the last chance for him to do it and not be too old.

Can you please be sure to post your opinions of the Pirate cruise when you return? There have been many threads on this lately and I know many people are interested. I am especially interested as my 3 boys have ressies for this in May. Their ages are 8,8, and 5. Please let us know your thoughts on how thier adventure went.

Thank you!

My niece went along on the cruise last October when she was nine and she had fun. I think she was the oldest child on the cruise, but she paired up with her brother so it all worked out fine.

My two boys went last summer. They were 6 and 7 at the time. They both really enjoyed it. There were kids of all ages, with in the guidelines.
I saved it for our last morning, it allowed me to drop them off, go back to the room, get everything packed, then be back in time to pick them up.
They had lots of stories to tell the first part of our drive, but the bonus was that they were tired and slept alot of the way back to grandma's house:tongue:
