So we are cruising with our son and his friend. Both turn 18 just a few weeks before we sail. Will they still be able to hang out at VIBE? I know technically not teens, but would still enjoy it and they are still too young for the adult clubs/lounges. Two days at Sea. Thanks!

No—once you turn 18 you are no longer allowed in Vibe, no exceptions.

They can go to any adult areas, including clubs/lounges and the adult pool. They just won’t be able to drink/order alcohol.

They can go and check it out during Open House times, though. Once a child turns 18, they are an adult and no longer a child/young person, therefore not eligible for youth activities spaces.

They should look to see if there is anything with the 1820 society going on. As I understand it, they meet somewhere the first night to discuss things they want to do.

They will need to have their KTTW card with them when adult areas like the pool - I've seen people asked for theirs and if they don't have it they are asked to go and get it.

As others have said, once 18, no more teen club. Even if that 18th birthday happens during the cruise. I know the kids' clubs have open house...I was not aware that the tween or teen clubs did.

Yes check out the 1820 club, they usually meet 1x a day with a youth counselor for an organized gathering. First night meeting is usually in Cove Cafe for coffee tastings--going the first night is important to meet others their age and to discuss the types of activities they'd want to do. On our 2018 cruise, they met for lunch 1 day, did crafts, had some sports thing, I think they had an ice cream social as well, and other activities. A lot of times the kids would arrange to get together at other times during the cruise without the counselor. My oldest didn't click with anyone so she just went to a couple of the meet ups and did some adult only activities with DH and I--she really enjoyed some of the adult only entertainment. Yes, there are open house times in ALL the clubs at some point, so that's when they could visit Vibe, they just have to leave when the open house times end.

And at 18 they can go to all the adult spaces, including the fitness center/lounges--they just can't order alcohol. They should have their key card with them at all times as it identifies them as an 18-20 yr old (letter B vs A for adult and M for minor) and grants them access to all adult only areas.

Yup my son turned 18 the day we set sail. (Bad planning on my part) He was NOT allowed to go in Vibe. He went to the 18-20 society stuff though not as frequently offered.

The vibe open house was so fun - they had an old-school Ms Pacman and Donkey Kong! All the kids were playing the fancy-schmancy video games and my sisters and i got to hog Ms Pacman :-)

I do think it is hard for young adults still travelling with their parents who were used to the fun and friendship in the clubs. Yes, they can go to all the adult areas but sometimes they would rather be with other young people instead of their parents.

My DSs enjoyed the 1820 society after LOVING the Vibe. We did have 1 cruise that was a miss with that group (there was none) but overall it worked out well.

My DD loves the 1820 society. Must go to the first event (normally the first day/evening) after boarding to meet everyone and swap info (being able to chat via DCL messenger). From then on, she made plans with friends and had a group to hang out with every night.
